Today I got to take a brief but rather intense swim in the Pacific Ocean off Kailua Bay. The current was very strong due to the wind. I noticed the water causes a lot of resistance in my swimming strokes. The ocean is also good to help detox and dissolve mucus. I felt well worked in all areas. I wouldn't be able to swim in a public pool because of the chlorine. Even some ozonated pools I don't like as much as the ocean.

I used to skate. For many years in fact. Skating is a little hasrh on my body and doesn't give me an evenly balanced workout. I found that I would have to do other exercises along with skating to stay in shape. Surfing is the same too. More stress on the arms during paddling. Bodysurfing definitely works me up all over.

I also like the Bragg's back fitness program. It really helps to keep my back flexible and reduce back pain.

I'd like to get a yoga swing sometime soon. I have tried an inversion table before, but the swing looks much better.

WOW! you guys are movement inspirations!

I have to say I love love love dancing, too. I teach soul sweat asana yoga, and lots of dance and free flowing movement is incorporated!

And I agree cory, to get optimal fitness, you have to constantly challenge your body with different kinds of movement. Thats a major reason why I started this group, to learn how fellow raw foodies are moving in their own way.

Kiani, that photo is really cool! and i agree, the yoga swing is really really cool! I tried it once at this yoga studio in nyc, and really want to get one myself.

So for today I'm going off on a nature hike and I'm bringing my camera, so lots of photos to come! Also, I'm doing outdoor yoga with some friends later this afternoon.

Thank you everyone for joining this group, you guys are really awesome!

I do Bikram yoga and strength training using myself. I do handstand pushups, pushups with my feet elevated on a medicine ball, pullups, curls with 5 gallon buckets filled with water and I try to laugh hard everyday. I also surf everytime nature allows.

Richard Blackman's youtube thing on his site is very informative, inspiring, and refreshing. His program is my kind of workout. I'm just about becoming the best me that I can and becoming completely comfortable in my own body all the time.

hey jason! I agree being comfortable in your own body and laughing are two major parts of health, and in turn, they create situations where you find yourself moving more!

This also reminds me of one of my favorite quotes:

"When you accept what is, you can create what can be."

Also, I will definately check out that video series, it sounds like just what I need to hear. :-)

hey everyone!

Maggie, great group :) I love hearing what everyone does... lately I've been really into yoga and walking.

And yes- So You Think You Can Dance is one of the best shows :)

Hey Ally!

Thank you for your kind words! :-)

And I agree, walking and yoga are amazing, I can't wait for my nature hike in a bit.

Also outdoor yoga was fantastic! My friends are starting to become yoga addicts, haha. :-) Didn't bring my camera, but I will next time.

I'd rather find work that is productive and provides a challenging workout at the same time. Recently I noticed that when I harvest about 70 Coconuts in one day, even though I come home feeling exhausted, I feel very strong the next day. It's not easy work. I have to cut the Coconuts down, carry them into my car, and later peel them by hand one at a time before I can send them out to my customers in the continental US. Most people in my class last Saturday say it's not worth the effort. Well, I can husk a Coconut faster than any of them. Recently I went deep inside to inquire what my dreams and life purpose is. Part of it is to share my Coconuts with as many people as I can. I really enjoy what I do. At my next class I am planning to time myself to see how many Coconuts I can peel in a limited time or how long it takes to peel a Coconut while being filmed. I am planning to post it here. I get the theme from the lumberjack's challenge I saw on a sports show once. I could also see how long it takes to remove the Coconut Meat from the shell.

Kiani,I totally see where you are coming from. Like when I go for walks, it is usually to get groceries or some other errand. Also this summer I am heading to hawaii and will be harvesting fruits and such, so I will be able to relate to you even more!

Kudos to you for your dream, although it may not be easy, you are truly delivering people a genuine product! :-)
