Nice! skateboarding has always caught my interest! Right now I'm setting up a fitness challenge of my own: running 4 times a week, more yoga, kickboxing, and hiking!

The weather here in MN is finally getting better and I have finally been out for a couple nice bike rides. I'm thinking about getting a long board and skating around the city...so that will be my fun summer purchase! Otherwise, I'm looking forward to the summer months! Kickboxing sounds fantastic too.

Yes, like Joe says, DANCE! I do Nia. Mind, body, soul, pleasure, joy, and fitness all in one. Plus slammin' music.

No doubt some exercises are more fun than others, but no one exercise covers all aspects of our fitness....In other words,,,, Just running or just yoga or just dancing is not the answer to total 100% fitness.....

It's important to hit all the important hot spots and be well rounded .....ei Not just cardio, or not just resistance.....

It's important to have a routine that includes..... stretching, yoga, cardio and resistance ....This way you can always progress and stay injury free for life....

But that's not to say....don't climb rocks, or do martial arts.....all exercise is great but if you hit those 4 key aspects you'll get much better results

hey cool group....

hmm..I have found that some of the most challenging and detoxifying exercises are often the simplest..although rather silly to the observer. Tonight I did an exercise in kundalini where we held our fists close to the chest and 'clucked' our ribs with the elbows for something like 3 minutes. definitely stirred up SOMETHING pretty RAW internally. ug! felt like I had been in an illegal boxing match after the set (there was alot of other great exercises which contributed!).
Rawzilla Comment by Rawzilla on April 7, 2009 at 11:58pm
YES, Ken. I have done that too in Kundalini. I have had some serious releases in Kundalini. A lot of my "fitness" is about letting myself being silly--or pretty, or agile, or gentle--keeping a fresh variety within disciplined practices. For me that's through Nia dance and yoga, particularly Kundalini.

I'm a yoga & Pilates instructor, and I love both. I have to admit, though, I've been seriously delving into my yoga practice again since I started going to GoYoga. There's something about that studio-- it's truly a special space. I also LOVE to dance. Give me a night with my friends in a sweaty dance club anytime!! Anyone else a "So You Think You Can Dance?" fan???

I'm feeling deprived; I might have been a little too...early for these books. Sounds like they might be worth checking out though as I love a good children's book. Probably the right emotional level for me...

That sounds like fun.. There is a thing called double dutch where two girls hold two ropes and you have to jump them both at the same time.. maybe you could find a couple of girls to try this with you. It's pretty impressive when you see it..
