I've been to veganbodybuilding.com and the rest. I've been vegan almost as many years as you're alive now durianrider. You don't know us and have no idea why we eat meat. When did you turn vegan? Were you one of those people on street drugs or other drugs mugging people in wheelchairs? I thought so. You can't make up what you did by preaching to us. Take a twelve step program, make amends with the people you hurt (if they'll let). We who you don't know can get fruit advice in any bookstore. If you're afraid to say you eat raw meat, you don't belong in this group. G'day :]

Hi Isa :) Welcome. I had done raw on and off for almost 20 years before I heard of raw meat. It works so well. Ocean caught fish works way more consistently than fresh water fish. Always make sure it's not previously frozen. Don't worry about it being labeled sushi grede. That's a marketing ploy at best, dangerous at worst. I'll explain to you some other time if you like. Lovely having you here with us :)

Does anyone have any creative and tastey ways to prepare the raw meat? Beef, chicken etc?
RONNIE Comment by RONNIE on August 24, 2008 at 8:07am
I imagine most of you have read the Primal Diet Book?

Here's a book of ceviche' recipes Ronnie. I personnaly don't really like eating ceviche or beef. I like buffalo or chicken with fat, coconut cream, dairy cream or butter and unheated honey.

Heretics of the GI2MR community ... LOL.

I purposefully tread carefully in regards to discussing meat eating on the main discussion threads, partly because I imagine it makes some here uncomfortable, partly because I imagine it could lead to unnecessary drama in other instances.

ANyways, heretics of today are the iconoclastic geniuses of tomorrow. I just made up that quote and I think it shows ... that I suck at making up quotes. LOL

Hey Rawzi, I'm interested in learning how sushi grade fish is dangerous. I've heard that when you go to restaurants and order cooked fish "special of the day" half the time it fresh caught, half the time they are getting rid of old stock before it goes bad. That has nothing to do with sushi grade fish nor even raw food, but I had to add it.

Its so nice having you here new friend 'Accepting entropy but Resisting it with Raw Food'.

The quote's good.

Sushi grade is made into USA sushi grade from raw by freezing it up to two weeks to kill any life in it, "just to be safe". The micro-organisms that can grow on "not previously frozen" fish are much easier on our bodies.

Yes, when it comes to cooked foods, very many restaurants use old stuff and try not to throw anything away unless they absolutely have to. They think cooking it makes everything good.

Interesting. Extremely interesting. Yeah I'm not surprised, but I'm kinda disappointed. I liked the idea of being able to order sashimi at a Japanese restaurant, in cases where I was forced to eat out.

Not too big a deal though, I usually eat at home these days ... maybe even more than I prefer LOL.

Well, I never wasted away and actually feel that some of my deficiencies from poor digestion are turning around. But while I am getting the calories and nutrients I need, I sure do need to eat a lot! I often think of animals, like goats or rabbits...

New Zealand is just more environmentally conscientious than most places. I guess being an island is part of the reason. I loved NZ when I visited.

You could make an avocado chocolate (or carob) mousse but sweeten it with stevia, so you'll only be getting the fat and not the sugar. Or you could make a green smoothie (or a regular, non-fat smoothie) and freeze it into sorbet:-)
