Give it to me Raw

Hello all

(before i start i just want to say i am a REAL PERSON not a paid flunky for this site)

Anywho, I know its time for everyone to start up school soon so im sharing the goods.

I am taking an extra class at a Community college this semester and was trying to find the cheapest Microeconomics book i could, I found Chegg.com. Apparently you can rent your textbooks instead of buying them for insane prices and then selling them back to the campus bookstore for not even half of what you paid for it (if they will even buy it back from you). The normal price of my book was $150 but on this site it was only $34! It is was perfect because my class is only 8 weeks and i just cant see spending that much for a book that i will NEVER use again. You can chose to rent it for the whole semester, a quarter, or a month i think. (the price fluctuates a little but its still alot cheaper) Its the actual book not an ebook for those like me who like actually holding a book. Its Free to ship it back after your done with it. AND if you decide you like the book so much that you want to keep it you can just buy the book.

But thats not the best part. For every book you rent............wait for it..............THEY PLANT A TREE! So not only are they helping my pocket and the planet because I didn't have to buy a new book (they are bad mojo because of the chemicals, dead trees, shipping, etc......)but they are trying to undo some of the damage. I wish they let you pick what tree you want to be planted, fruit trees of course:) but i digress........

So anyway I just wanted to let my fellow college raw foodists in on the goods. Hope I could help.

Wow, thanks, I will remember that for the future. Unfortunately, I've already bought my books for this semester.

The only book that's an actual textbook is my Spanish text (which I bought used for half the price of a Chegg rental but it's one of those books that I will use this year and then want to get rid of, even though I'm picking up an extra degree in Spanish, because I already have better grammar reference books.)

I'm a grad student and most of the books we read are not actual textbooks, but I see that even many of my required non-textbook books (ex. "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond) are available on Chegg. That's pretty cool and something I didn't expect. Most of those I would buy anyway, though, because they are valuable references that I will keep for my career (I'm going to be a professor.) But I will definitely rent my Spanish textbooks there in the future because I never want to hold on to those clunky things! I usually end up putting them in the bin of books that will be donated to Africa.

Oh, and a shout-out to those who want to buy some of their books so they can keep them: I use www.addall.com which is a site that searches all the online booksellers to find you the lowest price for books. Next year I'm going to be using addall AND chegg!

He's still my hero, but I heard the guy was tyrannical and cruel to his family and co-workers. Marlon Brando talked about what a douchebag he was in his book; still though, comic genius.

OK, I guess to me getting rid of anger and envy and fear in ones self before being able to externalize it on a corporate scale just seems common sense as opposed to religious. Is that really religious? Or is it just that he is a Yogi addressing th...

Rome was AWESOME, another fantastic HBO series. True Blood is also pretty cool, but I read the books so it's bittersweet for me. Did anyone else catch Carnivale? That was really well done as well.

For a sore throat I mix salt into warm water and gargle with it. Then a warm drink with honey (nut milk, tea). Be well.
