Raw Food Cold Climate

I am successfully all raw in Alaska. It has been a bit of a bumpy ride to get here, and I would love to share what I've learned.

Hi,when I lived in NYC I used to order organic raw nuts and dried fruits at http://www.organicfruitsandnuts.com/
It's very good quality, I mean really good!!! Macadamia nuts were so delicious!!! Medjool dates, figs, almonds...mmmm ... Quality that surpasses everything I ever bought in Manhatan Health Food stores.
and when you buy 5-10 pounds it's much cheaper than in stores.

I now live in a very very cold climate, I can't even grow cucumbers outside. I plant a lot of fruit trees and nut trees. And I stay raw and feel very comfortable by Not Combining Any food. I eat just one kind of vegetable or fruit at a time, no salt, no chopping, no juicing. All those Raw recipes reminded me of cooked food and I was always hungry. I had to spend hours in the kitchen dehydrating crackers, making Raw lazania, carrot cake, etc. My friends and family loved the food, but it didn't satisfy our hunger and cravings. I don't have this problem on one fruit at a time diet! Less work, much more satisfaction!
Peace

I'm currently in the UK. Not so cold I guess, but the Autumn chill has just realised it's November and caught up with us! I also lived in Sweden for a while - much colder! I remember snow in June!

I love in BC Canada and must say it is more challenging to eat raw in a cold climate. I plant lots of garlic and herbs to have a productive garden. If you don't have a problem with deer pland kale and lettuce. Otherwise, sprout and dehydrate, then refrigerate of freeze your dehydrated pizza crusts, crackers and cookies. I'm still on my journey of making if flow with my diet and the damp weather. Best of luck!

I seem to be having a bit of trouble sprouting anything. I wondered if it might have to do with the fact that it has got so much colder in the last week or so. Everything has slowed right down.

It's very possible. 15+ years in the game, and you learn a lot, like how to reach your audience. You think he'll let me see his home in Hawaii?

I've met some hit chix on GITMR. Not satisfying in the least. Just the opposite. Most communication is self-defeating, accomplishes nothing. I would love it if people would leave me alone when I'm out and about. Anybody else?

Mariam, watching this raises questions: for instance, is this guy just an actor? Seems like it. "Am I glad I went"? Well, in the sense that I knew I had to see him eventually.....I guess I got it over with (and used up my airline credit). Is he a...

"Did I meet any hot chix?" I love it~! Ha! Ha! Ha! I've met too many of those in my life, already, many more than enough. I think I've had enough. But thanks!

Thank you Wrenn that is what I thought too and your comments are very helpful! I think it would also be cool at $.99 for 5 TOTALLY new raw recipes and then it can be a series of them at $.99 each...thanks for your comment!
