Give it to me Raw

Hi All you Lovely People!

I don't live in a climate even remotely as cold as any of you, but I have a question anyway.

I moved to Taiwan last Sept, and have been Raw on and off since Nov 2006. However, after a trip to Beijing where it was extremely cold, I returned to Taiwan and started to develop severe hip, thigh and abdominal pain and stiffness, and later also had lower back pain.

I wasn't even able to lie down comfortably for the first two weeks, and if I sat down, my thighs would start burning, and my abdominal pain was unbearable. I couldn't do yoga, and was so stiff in the morning I had to shuffle out of the bed sideways.
I am not into taking medications and after a while I just got used to the pain. There were good and bad days, and hot springs did help a little. The weird thing was I could walk without any pain.

My Chinese teachers who have lived in Yilan for years told me that a lot of people develop muscle aches in that climate (about 14-20C, but raining all the time, and damp enough to grow mildew everywhere) and that eating raw food was only making it worse (chinese concept of "cold"/ "damp" foods).

I was wondering what you all think. The symptoms have improved since (it's been 4 months) and I do think they improved a bit when I was in a warmer climate. I still have some residual symptoms now but not the stiffness.

Is it the food? Or did raw food make the problem worse? (Could have been a slipped disc). I'm hoping when I return there in a few weeks, the symptoms won't start up again.

Any advise would be most appreciated!
Peace and Love!

I see there has not been any answers to this post. I hope you are much better by now.

I'd like to add that I developed some serious effects from too much dampness myself. From my research and my understanding, it is spleen related. Too much cold and damp from raw foods do affect spleen function for some individuals, and spleen controls muscle function, including the heart, which is a muscle.

I reversed it by including pseudo grains like lentils and quinoa, and making warm vegan soups.
I still eat huge salads and make green smoothies, though I now have either soup or grains everyday as well.

i had an assigment in a class called Science and the Imagination, (basically Writing meets Science, or sci fi) and we had to watch a sci fi show episode and give some kind of report. That began my addiction to Battlestar Galatica, LOL. It's so good!

Gia, I wish you well and certainly understand the power of this process. Please be careful though; this is a significant process. Nature has the keys, and the best we can ever do is to try to understand and apply her wisdom. Fasting is about givin...

Thank you! Yes, the little one is high raw. He's 90% most days on account of his father pushing some "normal" things like toasted granola and steamed peas on him. Nothing I'll complain about though! He's also still nursing, so he gets a raw transf...

I've watched that. It is so weird that they have that show on. I also watched the old v's. They are a trip- with 80s hair and the spacesuit type outfits they wear. If you look at how small our planet is compared to others like Niburu- you can see ...

Thanks for checking this out Vamp. It is truly amazing if you can be open minded enough to watch the video. People act like we haven't invented space travel. If you can accept that- then how hard would it be to accept jumping onto a planet that is...

Hi El-bo, You're absolutely right; sodium is not the problem, but sodium chloride, and inorganic mineral salt which always causes water retention and raises blood pressure. We don't need any of that.
