Hey,
I've heard some debate about whether or not soy milk is considered raw. I've been vegetarian for 6 years, vegan for 1 and would like to be as raw as possible (a little interesting as a college student,) yet soy milk is definitley a staple. I'm also a huge fan of Starbucks, which again makes soy a little important. Does anyone have an views as to where soy fits in the raw diet?

Peanut Butter is not raw because the peanuts are roasted.

This is my first day into the raw lifestyle. I eat a big A salad for lunch around 3pm. I have little to no appetite but I do have a splitting headache.

Questions: Is this normal for the first few days?
How many meals should I eat in a day?
One more thing should I just set up a library in the bathroom? (If you know what I mean).

Ok, well my mother and I are both new to RAW and she is having a problem with cravings today..it is her 10th day. Is there something she can do to calm that down. And with weight loss..it has stoped for her all the sudden, she lost 10lbs in 7 days..is that normall?

hey ppl =)
I like being able to feel a part of something bigger with the whole returning to our roots and eating raw.
I have been doing about 80% raw for the past month. I am interested in going more to 95% but its really hard because I cannot currently afford all the commodities such as a dehydrator... or all the nuts and seeds I would like. However I think I've managed pretty well. After all this is an easy way to live when you dont have to cook anything.
Ive been trying to stay away from all animal products especially after having a nightmare about the treatment of meat and then watching A Diet For a New America.
I love the feeling I get from eating all these live foods...
but how do get vitamin B12? I kinda wanna not take supplements because that just doesn't seem natural. Eggs have it, and I have think about how primates would go and gather eggs and its still not killing anything. lol my mind can go crazy with all balancing acts i do with my morals and health.
shoot me a comment ya'll

Thanks for this. I really appreciate it, but now I feel like there's nothing left to eat! I mean yes, fruits and veggies, but I'm a poor post-grad student and sad about "natural" almonds not being raw. Thanks!!

I hope you're not just talking about raw food here. So my answer: I make it a point to make eye contact and smile at people ALL THE TIME. You'd be surprised at how many people won't look at me and if they do, won't smile back. But some do, and at…
