If I could chime in this one. I do agree with post workout smoothie, however, I know for me the one before bed can keep me awake. I tend just to have whole hemp hearts and water before bed, if I feel I need it. One of my fav recipies for protein blast is. 1. take 1/2 cup of hemp hearts and lightly grind them up in a coffee grinder. 2. take 1/2 cup of seaseme seeds grind them up in a coffee grinder. 3. take 1/2 cup of flax seeds grind them up in a coffe grinder. 4. take 1/4 cup of raw caco nibs and grind them up too. 5. mix into a bowl by hand really good. 6. add a couple of table spoons of raw coconut butter. 7. 1/4 to 1/3 cup of raw agave nector or honey. 8. blend well with a fork. 9. make 2 bite size balls with hands. your hands will be very sticky. 10. place into fridge to firm up a bit and enjoy. dont eat these before bed though. or you will be awake. You could just do the this recipe with out the agave or caco. you just have to squeeze the hell out of it to make the balls.

I have a friend who is a vegan personal trainer (not raw though) and recommends taking in "slow digesting" protein before bed. This will take longer to metabolize and feed your muscles through the night. He recommended having a hemp protein shake before bed. Basically, any protein source that has a good amount of fiber in it will digest slowly. It seems to work for me.
I am an endurance athlete and this is my post workout smoothie - it usually fills me up for a while ... typically follow this up w/ a lot of greens like a large salad w/ lots of avacadoes to balance out the fats
1 packet Coconut water
2 bananas
1 cup frozen mango
1 cup frozen berries
2 scoops of hemp protein
2 scoops of Trade Joes Super Greens
1/2 cup coconut milk
stevia for sweetning (not always needed - i first taste the smoothie and add if needed)
water or almond milk as needed to make loose or thick.
I will go through ~ 3 tall glasses of this for about 1 to 2 hrs after the workout and then follow w/ a salad.
women wants to re-make them just like if they were their own babies, and yet they want them to act grown up like a "real" man father and all that stuff. doomed to fail each time
Watch all three nights online. Some great info was given, but seemed like it was all about getting people to buy more and more products. All I know is that they made a TON of money.
