i am losing muscle since going raw what do i need to eat to keep it?!
Rawsborne Comment by Rawsborne on November 18, 2008 at 6:33pm
i had the same problem with loosing muscle when i started raw you need alot more GReens!! , pumpkin seeds, almonds, flax, all the nuts and seeds, and hemp is your best friend now hemps is 33% protein thats more then chicken and its a whole protein too as well, and it has all the same omega 3-6-9 as fish without being rancid oils so it doesnt promote cancer like all other rancid oils that have been heated or expired, and for suppliments Vega protein powder by brenden brazer is good stuff, its a whole protein(hemp, pea sprouts, brown rice, flax) berry complex, maca hormone balancer, and all RDI of vitamins and minerals per serving, and you can also get Toco trenials, and Raw Power Protein by natures first law, and spiralina is supplosed to be good body builder its 70% protein more then any other living thing in existance.

I work out every day but I still have a baby gut from my pregnancy nine years ago. How do we get rid of this?
Zach Comment by Zach on December 10, 2008 at 3:29pm
I am also loosing muscle since going raw, now I have been cheating by eating some wild caught fish. I seem to need more protein without having to eat more raw food sources to get it.

For protein, starting drinking green smoothies. That's an easy way to pack a ton of greens into your diet and those have great protein in them. I agree with Rawsborne. Hemp IS your best friend. Manitoba Harvest makes a good raw hemp protein powder. It has a more complete amino acid profile than most bodybuilder whey proteins.
Darri Comment by Darri on December 14, 2008 at 4:22am
I agree that Hemp is the best! I love making raw hummus and just snacking on it any time...Awsome taste.

A smoothie I dring before and after I work out consist of a ripe banana, avacado, hemp protain, vanilla bean, cacao, peanut butter, soaked almonds and almond milk and HEMP!

This is great information! Now, if I can only get my grandmother to eat raw parsley. Next round of shopping I'll have to grab some.

Well, I never wasted away and actually feel that some of my deficiencies from poor digestion are turning around. But while I am getting the calories and nutrients I need, I sure do need to eat a lot! I often think of animals, like goats or rabbits...

New Zealand is just more environmentally conscientious than most places. I guess being an island is part of the reason. I loved NZ when I visited.

You could make an avocado chocolate (or carob) mousse but sweeten it with stevia, so you'll only be getting the fat and not the sugar. Or you could make a green smoothie (or a regular, non-fat smoothie) and freeze it into sorbet:-)
