so they have a really low character limit in the intro. what i was going to add was:
this is a place to talk about music: music we like or used to like or don't like at all, bands that are good or used to be good, any ridiculous underground fashions/trends you might feel necessary to expound upon, and whether or not punk is dead.

I knew and shot the early punk rockers, as seen in my solo book, "Punk Pioneers." I saw Patti Smith in Jan 76 and shot the Ramones' west coast debut in Aug 76. Yadda yadda, for more, see my site, jennylens.com. (I took most of it down, but it gives you an idea. More on myspace.com/jennylens.com).

I use Oi because it sounds like Oy vey! (the Jewish spelling LOL!). My first CD was not "God Save the Queen," but I bought Patti Smith's "Horses" on vinyl Nov 75, and "The Ramones" on vinyl the day it was released in spring, 76. I shot the Pistols during their last show w/Sid, Winterland, SF Jan 14, 1978. I also subscribed to "Punk" mag back in 75. I followed the Clash around and shot on the stage in England June 1980. Started with the Ramones and ended with the Clash.

I created one of the largest punk archives in history. I'm the most published LA punk photographer from 1976-1980. I really worked at it! Most of all, great memories, stories and photos.

Am I punk enough?

Punk is more popular than ever. It will never die. It mutates but also remains the same. It's all a matter of perspective. (Except I must disagree with emo -- it's the opposite of punk.)

PS Your photo of the Ramones is not the original lineup. Tommy was the first drummer, not Marky. Nothin' against Marky -- he's a nice, funny guy. But Tommy is the only original surviving Ramone.

PSPS Please don't think I'm full of myself. As Barbra sang in "Funny Girl": "These are facts, I got no axe to grind." It's just one aspect of who I am, what I did, and am doing. I'm equally devoted to raw foods, biking, yoga, art and other things.

washington dc in the early 90s was fun. dischord records, riot grrl, positive force benefit shows, and punk processions.
