Those are some great dressing ideas! Thanks! When you say coriander, do you mean the vegetable? Not just the seeds? I am not sure if my grocery carries coriander, but I don't know if I'd recognize it if I saw it, so it might have been there staring me in the face all along!

I just ate my first mango today. It's an interesting flavor. I kept thinking of pine trees! LOL I'm really enjoying trying new foods and have been making a point of checking out every strange and mysterious thing in the produce section. Last night I had a chayote for the first time. I'm not really sure whether it's a fruit or a vegetable, but I liked it and will be having that one again.

I think I found Dr. Graham so early because I've always been an obsessive researcher. That's how I came to the (cooked) vegan diet to heal my diabetes only two weeks after being diagnosed as well as how I realized that going raw would take my healing to the next level. I research every aspect of my life and it drives my husband nuts, but I really do feel that I get more out of life by doing that. Heck, I even researched how to cut a mango before I dug in. (And I'm glad I did, because it's not a very intuitive fruit.)

lmao sparrowrose! I'm the exact same - I research EVERYTHING. I also researched how to eat a mango before I ate my first one ;) You're not alone!

well now hrrmm... I am trying to cut out nuts from my diet as I know they dont do me good esp those cashews...but I know when i get stressed i go for them and then feel my head going fuzzy etc and generally feel nutty!!! But I can t do fruits either so I am using hemp protein powder in my avocado smoothies..and I am in the process of trying to reduce my avo in take too...so i am looking forward to hearing more stories from other folk.
I do know that the receptor site for insulin on the cell membrane will get ``gunked`` up with anything you are unable to digest well..its not just about sugars....(:

Hi there - I am quite new to GITMR and just found this group.
After "dabbling" for 2 years trying to go 100% raw, I finally experienced that no-nuts/low-fat is what totally gives me that wonderful feeling - many of you described as well. Sad enough I had to go through a lot of trial and error. I like some Avocado in my salad or some home-made tahinidressing.......but I really have to keep it to some rare occasions as I feel best on fruits and vegetables + non-sweet fruit like tomato/celery/cucumber. (Made a cucumber/celery/dried tomato-soup yesterday evening in 30 seconds, which my usually slightly-sceptic husband loved/loved/loved. 3 ingredients, 30 seconds, no-fat, just vitality-giving yumminess......how cool is that. I wish I had concentrated on eating like this earlier......but am happy to fhave finally "got-the-clue".
Happy to be part of your group (being in Italy and sosososooooooo lonely as a raw-foodie) :-))))

what's up, group?

i've been following 811rv pretty strictly, with no real overt fats (besides occasional imported durian) for about 3.5 months.. it's been a pretty spectacular experience thus far.. i have had an almost constant positive demeanor since my change in diet and it is only improving.. the only thing that turns it is when i let the way other people treat their own bodies and our planet get to me.. i find my affinity towards nature and wildlife has heightened and is elevating.. i am pretty obsessed with nature's bounty of fruits and do not really desire to consume much else (besides greens and water).. people act like there is so much that i am sacrificing from my diet and life but i only view it that i have opened myself up to everything i could want.. i'm so glad that i have been introduced to dr. graham's insights and that more people are starting to become enlightened as well.. thanks to everyone here for not only aiming to improve upon themselves but also for striving to make this world a better place for all

Thanks for this info Suzie, it makes so much sense to me. Cashews aren't truly a human food, have u ever tried to pick one, shell it and eat it from a tree in nature?! Impossible!

I picked and ate the fruit a few months back and sort of played around admiring the invinsible cashew casing & must've somehow transferred the toxicity from the shell to my mouth because I was intensly ill for 4days, I fasted on water or who knows what could've happened, I had a fever & constant intense sweating, one side of my face swelled to 3times the other & was unbearably painful, i was confined to my bed the whole time, Durianrider was a witness to the whole thing.
I feel strongly it was the cashews as it happened pretty much straight away afterwards.

THanks for sharing those stories, keep them coming, its so valuable for others on their raw journeys.

Yeh im feelin ya Ryan

hi everyone! i personally love the whole idea of this diet (without seeds and nuts) and am trying to transition to it. I feel so much more energy but sometimes i do feel a deficiency. wheatgrass juice helps a lot tho. but is that just a normal part of the cleansing process?? does it get easier over time?? =D

Right--it's good in smoothies too. It's a necessity when there's no fruit in there!

In water with a twist of lemon or lime, in teas, in water (with flavored stevia), and with millet or quinoa.

Hi Lizz, I haven't tried yacon; I think it's still too sweet, technically. I believe stevia is truly the only natural sweetener that is not a form of sugar. When I add vanilla flavor and a little coconut oil to the stevia, it's kind of like maple...
