Thinking of getting a few Auckland GI2MR people together for a lunch at Raw Power, or similar, or some kind of picnic ... or something. Thoughts? Interest?
Hi, I have been thinking the same, would you be up for a chat about options? There must be loads of raw foodies in the 09! (my sister name for Auckland) now to get something regular organised. Dana
I'm planning to be in Auckland (Rawkland?) from Fri 7 Aug til Fri 14 Aug (or Sat 15 Aug); I'm keen to meet with other raw fooders, and to experience one or more raw food friendly restaurant/cafe. Who's keen to meet during this time?
Otherwise, I'm keen to know about places/events/activities/etc that you think might interest me.
And organic foods shops near / within public transport reach of the CBD - any recommendations?
Thanks :)
If any of you come to Chch, I'll gladly help you out. Here in Chch I help organise and run raw events, including 2 potluck dinner-and-movie nights per month.
I'm in. Which day would suit? Saturdays are out for me as I do the Ostend Markets here on Waiheke. Since your over 90 TaiChiMaster, you could travel there for free! ;) LOL.
Organic stores within the CBD by bus - best bet would be Harvest Wholefoods, in Richmond Road. see www.huckleberryfarms.co.nz for details and locations.
If you get over the shore, I recommend you try I.E.Produce. www.ieproduce.com - They are a brilliant store. House pretty much everything.
You could also probably walk from the city to the Eco Store in College Hill for sustainable lifestyle items.
Looking forward to getting off this computer and meeting real people! :) Keep us in the loop.
Great, you're in! :)
An evening meal on Friday 7 Aug will be good.
Are you occupied the night of Saturday 8 Aug, or is just the daylight hours that you're busy?
Saturday (8 Aug) lunchtime, afternoon, or evening is also okay for me at the moment.
Sunday or Monday (9 & 10 Aug) lunchtime, afternoon, or evening is also okay for me at the moment.
Who else is keen? The more the merrier!
Thanks for the info about the organic outlets near-the-CBD / near-the-CBD-by-bus.
Is there a stupormarket near the CBD that sells organic produce/products?
Friday night and Saturday are out for me, unfortunately. Sunday I could do...Monday I have a class... So I could come over on Sunday. Depends on others moves. Are there others? :)

Your dog is sooo cute! I have a dog too and two cats, and I looove them! I feed them wheatgrass and they actually choose that before regular grass wich they normally chew on in the garden.
I decided to have a 50/50 raw/cooked meal at Vita last night, having had a desire for warm meals for last couple of weeks. They had a Vegan Paella, it was amazing but it's only the second time I have had grains for a year and I had headache soon a...
It's actually surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. No machete required. Shave off the husk at the pointed top close to the shell. Then poke the point of a knife in about 2 or 3 cm out from the centre and wiggle it about until it pierces ...
