Hi All,

I plan to be an inactive member of this NH group. I believe in a lot of it, practice a lot of it, and the things I do differently, I've had some experience in your ways and see value. I'm here to give my respects now, and read here and there.

Best in health to you all.

I would maybe want to do a course in NH, what's the best one? (it'll have to be homestudy) I believe in many principles of NH, but there are also a few ideas I can't get my head around. For instance herbs, which are a bit no-no. I understand that you should not use herbs to treat symptoms, that is basically the same as using medication, but where do you draw the line? Many herbs are foods we eat, like dandelion, parsley, fennel, etc. And many of our everyday foods have madicinal properties, I really find it a grey area and can't agree that all herbs are bad. Also, what about aloe vera, NH says it's a dangerous toxin, but everyone else raves about it's health benefits. Otherwise NH is great and I would like to get a qualification in it.

Thanx Xerxes
Great answer! I've read bits and pieces on rawfoodexplained, at the moment I'm doing some other courses, but I'm quite interested to do a course in NH.

Thanx!

Monika, The University of Natural Health (UNH.edu i think) offers upto PhD in natural hygiene training. The courses look very good, but please remember that although you might get a PhD with them, it means nothing in the real world, it would be purely for fun and informational purposes.

Take care

im confused. matt monarch swears by regular colonic hydrotherapy. its his no.1 raw tip, didn't think it could be dangerous but now it kind of makes sense. enemas seem much more natural in comparison.

I've heard great, great things about Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in Fort Bragg, CA. I know that isn't really in the Los Angeles area, but it's still in CA and I believe they provide students the option to stay in their 'Living Light Inn'....

The way I see it is that generally people who label themselves are confident of the path they have chosen while, also generally, people don't don't label aren't quite as sure if what they're following is the right way to go.

things that have actually worked for me: Valerian root for tea - very calming... Lemon juice, sliced lemon peel, lemon grass or lemon verbina, raw honey, star anise (optional), maybe some ginger, hot water (let it all infuse together for a while) ...
