Lately I've been buying these delicious looking mangos,
and i get really really excited about them
but something is weird about them when i cut them.
The flesh is not smooth like it usually is... its more ... startchy or something?! I can't find the right word. But its definitely not smooth and sweet like it usually is...
I am definitely waiting until they are ripe and they are doing the same thing.
anyone have an idea? im in a crisis! i want my sweet mangos back!!!!
Maybe they're not in season?
I've had a few of those myself, the ones that where that stringy and startchy came from Brazil and i really waited long for the to ripen. But they sort of never did?
I have a theory that they where picked when they are very immature just so that it wouldn't rot on the way to Sweden?

yea I think I've gotten my hands on one of these over the weekend. Tasted like a ton of chemicals, I wonder what they're doing over there.

sorry to tell ya this but those are forced ripened fruit. I'm sure you'll see creamish hard patches on the inside of some of them? the fruit is treated with gas to ripen quickly (or encourage ripening end of season when quality goes down). The color of the skin doesn't tell you the truth about whats going on inside. Eat in season for optimal quality, mango season ended late september so what you've got is...no good. Better luck next year

Happens to me every once in a while, especially when I eat acidic food. Yesterday I ate 1.5 pineapples and my tongue started bleeding and chaeffing. Yuck.
