Thanks for starting the thread, Jef! I'll begin a modified juice feast Monday Aug 31 (w. 2 juices à 1 litre + 1-2 green smoothies daily & some quinoa if need be, since I'm opting for slow & steady at this stage of my journey). Intention is 92 days or more. Will check in from time to time for mutual support. Good luck fellow feasters, opening up to new levels of growth! :D

Annika,
I'd like to hear more about how you are doing your modified fast.... Did you hear about this somewhere, or did you just tailor it for yourself? I'm having a hard time with being around people who are eating right now...yesterday my mom offered to have us come there so she could cook for my kids, but the food looked so yummy I almost had to break my fast. THen later in the afternoon she made popcorn, which of course smells up the whole place.
but a modified fast would now allow for me to eat that stuff any way! So I'd be in the same boat.
I'm curious what your diet has been to this point, and what you want to achieve with the juice feast.
I am thinking if I do a juice feast, it will cure 29 years of asthma, and allergies to dogs and cats, perhaps,... along with maybe depression, and definitely acid reflux. I'd love to be able to go to my sister's house where they have cats, and visit. There are a lot of places I cannot go due to allergies. I heard David Rainoshek say one time that juice feasting for 92 days can cure allergies.

However, I'm worried that I won't be able to sustain a raw/or raw/whole food diet after I"m done with the feast.
Has anyone experienced whether after you get through a 92 day juice feast, it is easier to stay off the foods that once tempted you? THis is my main concern.
TOday is day 3, and I feel great so far. the first 2 days were hard, not for staying on, except for my mom's temptoing food, but because I felt awful. NOw my body feels really great, and my mind clear.
Just need to make sure I get my juice soon so I stay full.
Hi! Very glad to hear you've jumped in & already moved through the first challenges. I hold the vision of an asthma-free Jef spending more time with cats! :)
My current dietary platform is wheat/sugar-free veganism (except for beepollen). My motivation to feast is...to open up a space within...leave the comfort zone & step into transformational terrain...develop tools to deal with issues underlying emotional eating. Also, to heal some vata imbalances through bringing more regularity into my life.
A google on ”modified juicefeast” shows others who have incorporated green smoothies / energy soups, but the quinoa is off the protocol, and reflects the level of cleansing I feel ready to go through right now.
Regarding your concern about post-feasting diet, I listened to a podcastinterview with Philip McCluskey in which he stated the importance of a *very* gradual reentry into solids.
Hello, I am new to this group and I'm glad I've found it. I am on day 3 of a 83 day juice feast. I know it's supposed to be 92 days but I want to eat on Thanksgiving with my family. A raw thanksgiving that is. If I don't feel like eating I'll go on to 92 days. Since 9/3 I've lost alot of water (10lbs) Now I'm 165 on my 5' 3in. frame. I drink a gallon of veggie juice and fruit juice - 80/20. I use my 60 dollar jack la lanne juicer because I can't afford the expensive kind. If it stops working I have the box. This is my 3rd juiceman and I'm so used to them. But I want a champion.
Hey Jef. How's it going? Saw that you are struggling. I'm interested in doing this, but afraid I wn't be able to while feeding my family. Going to get a bunch of produce to start juicing as much as I can.

I'm still in the game....
Starting over tomorrow, but I'll still call it day 11. I didn't mess up totally.
I thihk it would help if I'd get a new battery for the scale, and some stuff like that, including beingmore organized, cleaning up the clutter around here , and planning the meals.
Yes, I have 3 kids, and no one else to make food for them. they eat a lot of fruit and fresh veggies, but its hard when I cook something that smells.
How many kids do you have? I think its possible, it just developes more of your character than doing it if you lived alone!!
Go for it and just juice every day as much as you can. Any juice you get in, especially in the AM or on an empty stomach, will really help, give you a vitamineral punch!

Jennifer,
You are so right. :) Meaning the character building. I jumped in once before and I think I made it a week. :) I did just work on my shopping list and it's actually easier to figure out the food when I don't have to worry about myself... juice, done. :) ha ha
Too the grocery store tomorrow. Good luck w/ the restart tomorrow.
I seriously need to clear clutter and get organized too! Hard w/ others to clean up after. I have two three year olds myself.
Are folks still going on this? I started a juice feast/cleanse on Sept. 11. So, here I am on day 2! I'm really enjoying it so far... a little hunger, but mostly just happy to be freed from preparing foods, shopping, etc. (I'm doing the Blueprint Cleanse, where they deliver juice to you.) I'm planning only 10 days -- nothing too revolutionary!
Anyone still doing this? I'm on day 9, planning to go only another 6 days or so. Feeling a little tired and worn... a little trouble sleeping, too. (Maybe cause I have to get up in the night to pee a couple of times! It's a lot of liquid intake.) Totally happy about it, though -- skin looks good, and I've dropped a bunch of weight. Love to hear about others' experiences!

Hi peanut! Glad to hear you are feasting!
I sorta crashed and burned....I went about 14 days drinking lots of juice, but by day 6 I started eating a bit of this, and a bit of that in the evenings, which didn't work out so well, and snowballed.
I'm planning to get back on the plan in the next couple days.!
Keep letting us know how you're doing.
Do you get enough exercize??
I know when I"m juicing only, and don't excercise every day, I can't sleep, for all the energy coursing through my body.
I felt great while I was juicing, by about day 4. i wasn't totally prepared for the long haul, and didn't have a scale to keep track of my weight loss, so that didn't help me keep on track either.
I want to do the parasite cleanse too, so need to go a little longer for that.
I bought a cheap Oster 16 speed blender (like $25) about a year ago and it does magic. Sort of small, but blends everything I need and leaves my green smoothies smoooooth. Even blends whole nuts =] Oh yeah!
My food processor burnt out and I'm considering getting the Magic Bullet as a replacement. Can it also make things like date/nut bars as well as smoothies? Do cheap blenders work well at making daily green smoothies?
I'd get a processor/blender c...
