On May 3, I started a Juicefeast and went through 17 glorious days. The only reason I decided to break the Juicefeast, was because I was tabling at the AlternaTeva Fair and I had to taste the food that I was going to sell. Although I didn't blog each day, I feel that the Juicefeast did exactly what the Rainosheks said it would do. It "reset" my system and I no longer crave bread!!!!!!! This was one of the best things for me--- I used to "pig out" on breads, especially here in Israel where one can smell all different kinds baking everywhere. And, for Shabbat (the Holy Sabbath), it is a Mitzvah to eat it on both Friday night and Saturday for lunch, although it doesn't have to be a large piece. So, I am psyching myself up for another and G_d willing longer feast in August --- I also went through a few detoxes--- day 12 and day 14 . And, I became more hungry after these. I found that when I did become hungry it was a good time to chew on the bee pollen. The bee pollen here in Israel is awesome and I've tried a few different kinds. However, the best kind is sold near the Jerusalem shuk in the health food store.
I feel that the Juicefeasting site that the Rainoshak's have designed is a fantastic support tool and kept me in synch each day that I feasted.
Well, I better get some rest, as I am doing a Raw Foods / Yoga retreat in Jerusalem tomorrow , June 19 -- 9 - 1

I'm on my third day of the juicefeast..I must say I am feeling that same urge to chew again..Seems to hit at the same time each day. Any suggestions..I don't chew gum and I don't want to be tempted to break my juicefeast at least not for two weeks.
Also , what are your thoughts about doing a juicefeast for only two weeks.. Will I still reap the benefits

Hi, why dont you try growing wheatgrass, then you can chew this perfectly like gum, you get the green juice and you spit out the solids again-the perfectly healhy gum, and you dont need to juice the greens either.

I'm on day two of my juice feast! I am excited. I have not set a length of days that I will continue. My first goal is one month. Last time my goal was one week and I went through to 10 days. (I stopped due to going on vacation) Why am I telling you all of this? I definitely will need your encouragement to continue on this journey. Those of you that are feasting... Good Luck! Those of you that are about to begin, you are embarking on a wonderful journey. Those of you wanting to know more... just ask. You have a group full of people will cheer you on!!! Cheers!

It is so easy to enjoy, I am not sure how long I could keep it up without balancing the diet with some solids. Some great tips are available at http://tinyurl.com/6rw3up

Hey there, I'm a relative newcomer to the world of raw food (September 2008). After much research and reading some good books on juicing, I decided to undergo a short 3 day juicing experiment this past week.

Wow, let me tell you, it was very interesting! For one thing I found it surprisingly easier than I thought it would be but by the time the 3rd day rolled around, I was eager to get back to solids!

But I noticed several things happening - not only did I lose more weight quickly (went from 153 to 148 lbs) but I had incredible energy, slept even better than before and woke up earlier, refreshed. I also felt incredibly clean. Amazing.

Next time I do a juice feast/fast, I'll try it for 5 days and see how that goes. Hope to get some love and support here from you juice enthusiasts!

Hey... I want to do the Juice Feast! My only concern is that I am actually a little bit underweight and am trying to gain some weight... Is juice feasting going to make me lose a lot of weight? I know it's a good thing for people who are on the heavier side, but what about ME?! :P

Haha!

Love always - Marie

My response Marie would be,

Juice Feasting is great for anyone feeling that their bodies can use a full reboot of the system, cleanse, rebiuild and re-set for a new level of wellness on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual (if you are a spiritual person) level.

As far as beign underweight, it seems to maintain your weight or gain is a bit of a difficult feet while Juice Feasting. For one thing you will definitely want to take in more high calorie juices (not necissarily fruit - you will need to check your blood sugar level before starting to see what your bodies needs are in regards to sweet juices) and possibly drink more of them, also getting in plenty of green foods, hemp and coconut oil, bee pollen etc. (all on the JFing program/protocol). Do weight training or some form of resistance exersize so that you build muscle and if you find after the first few weeks or month that you begin to lose weight and are not comfortable with that you can transition into a moderated Juice Feast or just transition out. Whatever period of time you do the juice feast for it will be an extremely transformative experience, and extremeley cleansing. That first 3-4 weeks is when you are doing the most cleansing.

That is what I remember without looking into notes or books, but David Rainoshek would be an excellent resource - not only because he is probably one of the three most expert advocates/trainer/teacher of Juice Feasting, but last year his goal was to gain weight while Juice Feasting. So perhaps drop him a note and see what he has to say.

Many Blessings and a sweet inspired transformation to you, Chaya

Try this. I found out about it when I worked at Jubbs longevity. There is absolutely no aftertaste and a bottle lasts forever. I've been using it for years. Lucky Vitamin has amazing prices on many things too. http://www.luckyvitamin.com/item/ite...
