Experience with refinishing or painting floors?
Does anyone have experience with refinishing or painting floors? How does the end product look? Would you recommend it?
My budget doesn't seem to allow a completely new hard wood floor, so I'm thinking about refinishing or painting the floors (Nate Berkus did a stupendous job in his West Village apartment). Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

It is imperative that you use paints that do not off-gas, causing toxic indoor pollution, also use carpets that are made with NATURAL flame-retardants. some of the chemical used in these conventional housewares are showing up in the placenta after birth. Also it is imperative that you paint atleast three watermelons and a durian somewhere in the house.

showing up after birth?? whoa, that's scary how chemicals are literally a part of us. thanks for looking out, I will definitely have to look into this. Are there any companies or brands you recommend. Any help would be appreciated! It's funny you mention painting fruits, because I plan to paint a sky ceiling, and possibly some other fun nature aspects into the apartment. So, MAYBE your wish will come true and I will have a durian or fruit tree in there. OH SNAP!

I have never dried them myself, but in France and Italy you can buy them already dried (at what temperature I don't know). It was awhile since I ate them (before I went raw).
My saliva has never commented on how I smell. But my mouth tastes fine. And, in case you were wondering, my various excretions all smell good too!
