So far we have a lot of greens. Spinach, silverbeet, rainbow chard, kale, romaine. And we are going to start some seedlings for corn salad, miners lettuce, lambs quarters, broccoli.

I am in the north, but I"m reading the book Four season Harvest, by Eliot coleman, and am gearing up to do more winter gardening next fall. Last fall I planted some greens in September during a warm spell, and I got 2 5 gallon buckets of good greens that I used in smoothies. That was really a lot of fun, and eye opening. I couldn't believe they survived until December through 10 degree nights.
I love to grow spinach through winter. I also plant winter greens. I grow inside herbs which gives me something homegrown always at hand. I don't go outside much though, it gets too cold for me. I forget about my garden over winter which is bad.
I also read "Four season Harvest", by Eliot Coleman a few years ago and got me on the winter gardening kick. I couldn't believe how well some greens made it through such cold weather, using simple row cover fabric. This year, I may make small hoop greenhouses over some of the rows.
Right now, I've got my fall/winter garden growing like crazy. My favorite things for autumn and winter are......
lettuces, spinach, mixed greens mix (mustard greens, kale, tatsoi) chard, collards, red russian kale, chards, beets, carrots, black radishes, turnips, and......... best of all, dandelions and chickweed, chickweed, and more chickweed!
Just got finished drinking a bunch of carrot/celery/beet greens/CHICKWEED juice where half the juice is chickweed.

Wow, cool . I have to say, my motivation was weak this fall, and I haven't yet put up any rowcovers or anything, though I have greens growing, lettuc, kale, turnips, and Peas. the peas are blooming, but I need to cover them I think. I think its too cold for them to set. If I just get my bu%^ in gear, I could easily cover the little I have!
How exciting! I'm going to have to figure otu what chickweed is......is it the same as purslane?
also, a dr. friend told me that some of the waxy stuff can drip into your ear and do permanent damage. it does feel great, but i don't do it any longer. i've actually fallen asleep while having it done. =/
Thank you Wrenn that is what I thought too and your comments are very helpful! I think it would also be cool at $.99 for 5 TOTALLY new raw recipes and then it can be a series of them at $.99 each...thanks for your comment!
women wants to re-make them just like if they were their own babies, and yet they want them to act grown up like a "real" man father and all that stuff. doomed to fail each time
