I just started growing wheatgrass inside my house. No flies yet. Though I am still waiting to try my first batch. I am very excited.

I'm thinking of chucking my wheatgrass because of the flies. I'm concerned they laid eggs!

This is something I would really like to do, but I don't really have a clue. My back yard is very small but there is some potential space. What would you recommend a newbie to start with planting? Or should I spend the winter reading?

Here in NZ lots of people are now growng vegs on their little patches of ground around their home. A really great spin off of this current economy thingy. There are workshops for everything to do with gardens, worm farms, etc etc. A great environment to be in !

New Zealand is just more environmentally conscientious than most places. I guess being an island is part of the reason. I loved NZ when I visited.

In the first stage, the diet is restricted to veggies, protein, and just a few grains (eaten in very small portions). Fermented foods and sea veggies are very integral to this diet, so it sounds like you might really like the diet. Nothing sweet ...

What do you eat in the first stage? I really think I am going to try and get this book because I always crave fermented, savory foods and sea veggies. Do you eat animal protein?

This is great information! Now, if I can only get my grandmother to eat raw parsley. Next round of shopping I'll have to grab some.
