hello there! i'm so glad this group is here~ i was hanging out in the field behind the natural food store where i am currently employed and discovered a bunch of discarded tires. 'there has *got* to be something i can *DO* with all these tires!!' i thought to myself. after seeing this group... i have figured it out!!!
i'm going to arrange the tires along the eastern border of the field... fill them with soil... and GROW PLANTS in them!!
brilliant!! :)
i'll take some before & after pics... the after pics might be a few months though after the snows have passed! :) i can do a before moving the tires & after moving the tires pic sooner, though!
laugh... okay so since my last post, a crew of fellas have come in and completely gutted the field and are getting ready to build an assisted living home. so..... stay posted~ hopefully there will be some ground left for me to sew some bright & shiny seeds of peace in ;)
good thing i didn't bury the time capsule in that field!
i know!! thankfully my car broke down so i'd been riding the bike to work & discovered my new 'blank canvas'! ;) (there's a bike trail that goes from 21st street to confluence park [i know that's not what it's called anymore- i'm being defiant ~confluence is the coolest word ever, and 'america' is just a construct really ;] )
little blessings

ooo ooo so if you'd like to come play sometime let me know! things are just in the seed stage in my mind... but the planning is about to commence! :) i'm not really sure what the heck i'm doing~ i'm thinking a few edible patches of greens/ fairly self-sustaining things but i know plenty of care will be needed at the start...fruit trees... (i'm hoping that planting pits & seeds & watering them will do it...laugh! we shall see!)
I have been transferred to our 'north' location::: once again i have a guerrilla garden area at the workplace! this one is a brick flower bed that looks like it's been neglected for the past few years~ i did find clumps of potting soil showing evidence of flowers at one point, however.
i have started amending the soil (post-amendment pics above) & a friend is going to help dig 'em out & add some more organic material.... & then we're going to plant!! herbs, greens, flowers...
aaah! feels good to be doing something constructive. spring is a'coming! (70 degrees today!! but nope, not springtime yet! :) )
So I am just wondering... how is your new spot treating you and how is your garden coming along? Please do tell, I am excited to see your progress! :O)
Thanks for asking! :) The soil is all nice & amended with compost and peat... wildflower seeds are planted all along the east wall (pic 2 :] ) & sunflowers are already growing along the south wall thanks to some trail mix i left out for the birds that was dumped by some lovely unknowing-guerrilla-gardener hooligans ( :} ) , plus green onions, herbs and other assorted veggies and edible flowers (that's the side closest to the store)!
I don't have any pics at the moment, but will take some this week!
Hooray for gardens! :)
I would like to buy one book, ( I already have the Complete Book of Raw but there are not a lot of photos and I am visual).
I am thinking of Ani Phyo's book but wanted to here what you had to say.

Amen, Loren. So do you feel the same way about blending then? The whole fiber is still there with blending so not improving on nature as much as sort of 'pre-chewing', if you will
I'm planning to start enemas too (I think when my roommate will leave next month...). Of course it's unnatural, but we have eaten unnatural for years and years and I believe it can help a lot getting out the waste.
I just wanted to ask, what water...
