How do I know I am allergic to garlic and/or onions?

Hi all, I am really glad to find this group. I had never heard about an onion allergy until coming here. I am trying to avoid garlic and onions for spiritual reasons, as they are considered to interfere with meditation. I struggle with trying to avoid these foods as I love the 'heat' that they impart on foods; however, I am hoping that my tastebuds will adapt over time. Any recipes would be lovely. I know some people substitute asafoetida instead of garlic, but that is also considered negative pranic as well. Anyway, sorry to bring a spiritual focus if that's not intended here, it's just that I know many raw foodists avoid these ingredients for that reason.

can u help me with my postures when u run your raw-community? i do yoga, but not regularly, and my flexibility isnt that great. my breathing capacity is great, and thats the only thing good.

things that have actually worked for me: Valerian root for tea - very calming... Lemon juice, sliced lemon peel, lemon grass or lemon verbina, raw honey, star anise (optional), maybe some ginger, hot water (let it all infuse together for a while) ...
