What's So Fabulous About Fermentation???

Besides the incredible health benefits of this *raw-vegan* food, fermentation is fascinating and fun! There are so many reasons, I hardly know where to begin.

I will be adding an overview here for fermentation newbies, little by little as I have time. :)

What kind of thing do you want to make Bettina? Sauerkraut, kimchi, fermented beverages? Lots of recipes, and mostly just creative ideas for putting things together. Let me know your particular area of interest and I'll see what I've got!

Renee dairy, grains and vegetables become sour at a certain stage of fermentation. Raw meat fermentation does not.

Raw meat fermentation is *so* interesting. I'd love to hear more about it, even though I don't want to eat ;) I know it has been used in traditional cultures to give super-immunity. Do you have any information about that (the ways fermented meats have been used traditionally? Undoubtedly you do!)

This is Sun and I ahve been doing fermented foods for about 40 years now 100% raw Iwas withAnn Wigmore at Boston Hipporactes in the late 60's or so. learned the iniital concepts there.

Beet and purplae cabbage and herbs is my favorite as kit is purple red adn thickly colorful.

I am so glad to see that you are scharing this as an artisitc science

I dont smell like fruit, but since getting all the processed foods out of my diet I find I hardly need deoderant. Theres definitely a noticeable improvement. What are people supposed to smell like? In nature, animals smell musky.

I have never dried them myself, but in France and Italy you can buy them already dried (at what temperature I don't know). It was awhile since I ate them (before I went raw).

My saliva has never commented on how I smell. But my mouth tastes fine. And, in case you were wondering, my various excretions all smell good too!
