cob house
I am embarking on an adventure of checking out out of society , moving to comfy, forrested spot in Northern CA, and building an off the grid cob house.
I am in the education phase of this project and am open to advise if anyone has any.
We are hoping to buy land this summer, design the house, and start building next spring.
I am planning on doing most of the work myself with my two teenagers.
I am learning about passive solar design, as well as active solar and water catchment systems.
I hope to incorporate a greywater system like the ones used in the earthship, but in a freestanding cob structure.
I built my traditional home in Texas with my first husband, so I have some experience building, but the alternative energy stuff is all new to me. I'm reading lots of books.

haha challenges are what keeps us alive keith :-) I'm totally used to the weird looks now. Eating half a 15kg melon in the middle of a mall seems to get the most attention :-D
