Give it to me Raw

So glad I found this group! I'm about to complete my first month on an anti-candida diet, but it's been far from perfect. I'm following a vegan version of what Natalia Rose recommends in "Detox 4 Women" but have been doing some research on other anti-candida diets since I haven't felt as awesome as I would have expected and have found it hard to stick to in some ways.

One thing I've read is that you should actually not include many starchy foods like potatoes and squashes, despite Natalia's high recommendation of them. Does anyone have an opinion on this? I do feel like eating those may be one thing that's contributing to my not feeling as good as expected so far.

Another thing is that I really really really miss my green smoothies! Has anyone included apples with success even in the first few months of the diet? I just want to do something simple like apple and spinach, but I don't want to ruin any progress that could be made.

I love Kombucha, and in a way it's maybe good if I can't have it on this diet (since it is so expensive), but I'm conflicted on whether it should be included or not. Since it is a fermented drink then it may contain a lot of sugars to feed the yeast, but then again it has so many good probiotics that it seems like it would help to kill the yeast... so which is it? Any opinions or experiences?

Final thing (I promise! haha): what about beans? I've heard mixed things about them. There's something about beans that, even though they're not raw in the least and are even a miscombination in themselves (both a starch and a protein), I'm just convinced somewhere in my mind that they're delicious and healthy. But there was a certain point where I was digesting them absolutely fine, they kept me regular as can be, and then all of a sudden somewhere in there I couldn't digest them anymore. But I miss them a lot and have read that they can either really help with the diet or can really hinder it. So once again, any opinions or personal experiences?

I might be popping onto this group periodically for support. I felt like giving up so bad earlier today. I think the yeast is trying to fight back hard core, plus I went out to our local raw restaurant last night and indulged in some pumpkin pie that was to die for, but I think it probably had dates in it and I think that completely kicked in my cravings for things that I *know* I shouldn't eat but I wanted to sooo bad.

Best everyone! I hope your own journeys are going spectacularly!

Sure, too much fat is bad for the liver. But fat isn't per se bad for the liver, is it? Not only in 811 but also other people say to limit the fat but maybe raw plant fat helps to flush out some stuff out of the liver? When you've been on a fat fr...

Think more systematically. Instead of thinking of it meaning a problem like 'weak liver' it may mean, time to fast. Think of it as more like youre body is undergoing a load of eliminating stuff all at once. (and in this case perhaps, too fast(this...

Awesome U - Around 700 folk, at the beautiful Hilton Hotel ballroom, quite nice indeed. Like a big serious party, very light-hearted but very serious, i'd say mostly serious, especially the people presenting other than David. David carries on, his...

Thanks Loren. Makes sense to me. My problem is that when I blend (which means more volume of fruits) then i am more regular with my bowels. What I can eat & chew doesn't always trigger peristalsis in the same way. I had chemo a few years back and ...

You could try clay compresses - they work deep - because of the earth factor. Send me a message with your email and i will send you an e-book on hydrotherapy. Hydrotherapy does not cure - but it's the variation in temperature which gets a reacti...
