Candida seems to have so many symptoms that I am not quite sure how to tell. I had suspected that I did, but not really positive.
I love fruit so much that I think that I was happy to live in denial before, but now I want to figure this whole thing out.
I am currently juice feasting and have noticed quite a lot of gas/gurgling and was wondering if this had anything to do with candida die-off.
I am pretty sure I have it. I've also read that a heightened sense of smell can be a sign. when I took the survey it said I have it severely. Nice, just in time for all those amazing summer fruits I LOVe to be raw on.
I think most people do have some degree of candida overgrowth which is always part of a larger syndrome of pathogenic infection (parasites, bacteria, viruses). Perhaps the simplest way to "diagnose", is that if you experience severe sugar cravings on a low glycemic (sugarless) diet, it is likely an issue for you.
Juice feasting could possibly exacerbate the problem. Donna Gates of Body Ecology doesn't recommend juicing for people who are recovering from candida - it is absorbed too quickly and can have the effect of making your blood acidic. You won't have that problem with green smoothies, with the vegie fiber intact, especially if mixed with protein and fats from seeds or nuts...
Funny you should say that - in fact I recently did a 7 day smoothie feast with three-ingredient smoothies: greens, water, fruits. NO fat was the important thing. When I wanted to chew, I ate cucumbers. And now, my symptoms are gone - it's amazing! So now I am making sure to eat lightly as often as I can, and keep fats away from fruits. Do more food combining when I can, and keep the fat low.

I wouldn't be alarmed unless you have other symptoms.
candida is found in the colon in small amounts naturally ------> (http://cfs-recovery.org/candida.htm) so seeing some during a colonic is not unusual.
