Give it to me Raw

"Will it blend better?" Blender-Showdown on RAWsome sunday (29. Nov. 2009 in Berlin).

They became famous for the "Will it blend?"- experimental blending video series (www.willitblend.com/ or at youtube.com): K-TEC Blenders demonstrated their unbelievable powerfullness pulverizing wood, glass, mobile phones and so much more. .- but are Blendtec the best machines for everyday use in the rawfooder's kitchen?
I will bring my Blendtec with me to RAWsome sunday's blender challenge on 29th nov. 2009 at the Wamos centre in Berlin. We will do the comparison asking: do we really need to pay 600 Euro for a reasonable blending appliance?
We will tell you about our conclusion. But if you can make it then come to RAWsome sunday and see for yourself. And if there should be another blender-challenger please bring it with you..!

ha ha... great, looking forward to the SHOWDOWN!

Until now we have 3 (+1/2) contenders:

Contender 1: Tobias' Vitamix (€600)
Contender 2: My OmniBlender (a taiwanese copy of the Vitamix for €250)
Contender 3: Claudia's K-TEC (also around €600 I would guess?)
Contender 3,5: The Personal Mixer from Keimling - although much smaller! (€80)

I'm bursting with curiousity!
See ya

Great idea, that sounds exciting! Maybe you could record it and post the video online? I would love to see this ultimate blender showsdown. :-)

I know the VitaMix is ridiculously expensive in Europe...but the machine delivers! I've had mine for over two years of daily use and it's still going strong...I wouldn't trade it for any other model. Having said that, I don't think that anyone NEEDS a VitaMix. If you can afford it great, otherwise I'm sure the other models listed do an excellent job as well (I've tried all of them except the OmniBlender...I'm very curious about that one).

Right--it's good in smoothies too. It's a necessity when there's no fruit in there!

In water with a twist of lemon or lime, in teas, in water (with flavored stevia), and with millet or quinoa.

Hi Lizz, I haven't tried yacon; I think it's still too sweet, technically. I believe stevia is truly the only natural sweetener that is not a form of sugar. When I add vanilla flavor and a little coconut oil to the stevia, it's kind of like maple...
