Give it to me Raw

Good Job RawZi <3

One of the neatest parts of this particular board is that you can post a list like the one Im posting (below) and you can come back to it and modify it anytime youd like to (SO CHECK BACK REGULARLY FOR UPDATES). I hope more members will participate in this sort of thing. It really could be a wonderful resource!!!

WE BARTER & TRADE GOODS & SERVICES IN OKLAHOMA

Dollar amounts are listed ONLY to define estimated cash values. All listings are subject to change in value and/or availability without notice....

I. MERCHANDISE, PRODUCE & LIVESTOCK - All items listed in this category are for PICK UP ONLY. We dont ship anything by USPS or commercial carriers. No receipts are given. This is strictly a private transaction between us. We will stand behind the products we trade, as much as is reasonably within our power.

55 Gallon Food Grade Plastic Barrels. We can generally get half a dozen per month (value $7.50 ea or $40 for 6) with a 30 day notice.

LIVE Kefir Grains I will gladly trade for any of the items we are looking for (below). The LIVE grains are selling for $10 per ounce (postage paid) on Ebay. An ounce of grains (about 1/4 cup) will make 32 ounces of mild kefir within 24 hours. Your grains will grow if they are changed to fresh milk each morning. I try to maintain a full cup of grains for myself, so I can make kefir by the half gallon each morning. We dont always drink a full half gallon, but you can also make kefir cheeses, you can use it to soak flour to make WONDERFUL raw kefir crackers and in the event you REALLY have too much, you can always give it to the livestock! Keep in mind; to make 1/2 gallon of kefir per day requires you to buy or produce atleast 3.5 gallons of milk a week JUST FOR KEFIR.

Kombucha Scobies - We JUST got these. Im sure I will have scobies to share soon :o) These also sell on ebay for $10 ea

Mason Jar RINGS
- I used to pressure can garden produce for winter use. Now I eat much more seasonally and I cure, brine, ferment & dry most of our winter foods. None the less, I still use mason jars for MUCH of my storage. Between jars getting broken and my buying new cases 1-2 times a year and my preferance for the plastic lids in many cases, I find I have 200 mason jar rings I will gladly trade for something. Just give a hollar if youre interested.

Farm Cats - We have an ever changing selection of cats & kittens to choose from. We do not immunize, but we do herbally treat injuries & illnesses. We dont tag or sterilize any of the animals. Health certifs not available. Value $5 each, as they come from a long line of great mousers. New kittens due to wean the end of April I imagine (not born yet...just know they are on their way shortly - lol).

II. SERVICES
- References available on request. We can do some of these things by mail. Postage costs would apply to the value of the trade obviously.

Laminating - I have a full page 8.5" x 11" laminator for anyone that might need something laminated. The plastic cover pages cost about $.75 each. The service value is obvioulsy dependent on need. It is illegal to laminate social security cards.....who wants one of those anyhow though - lol..

Incubating - We own a professional GQF incubator and hatcher system and have a bit of experience with it. We've hatched fresh eggs for neighbors & friends. Often times, we keep half of what actually hatches as our pay. If you give us 40 eggs & 20 of them hatch, we keep 10 and you get 10. By appt. only.

Heat Lamp Poultry Brooders to order. See: http://www.plamondon.com/brooder.shtml Our sons (ages 13 & 14) have made these in several sizes for neighbors: 2x2 feet for 50-125 chicks ($40 value); 3x3 feet for 125-200 chicks ($45 value); 4x4 feet for 200-250 chicks ($50 value) or 4x6 feet for 250-300 chicks ($60 value). These are one of those things that WONT SHIP. Too bulky for that to be cost effective.

Livestock Shares - We can keep small unregistered livestock for individuals on our place for a share of the finished product (ie goats, sheep, chickens, pigs,etc) by individual contract. We dont take just any animals. They cant be registered, chipped or vaccinated. Would be a great resource for families that live in town who want pampered, loved, clean animals. While we are not registered "organic" (nor do we have any need to be) our animals are not fed supplemental grains.We allow no chemical fertilizers or pesticides on our property. New approved animals are isolated for 10-30 days. Our stock water is well water, not chlorinated. Value here obviously varies. Individual contracts will be very specific. Make an offer

Homeschool Counsel - We are in our 18th year of home educating. Experienced in KS and OK. Counseling is by appointment $10/hr. One hour is usually sufficient to get started & includes an OK Homeschool e-Fact Sheet (resources, legal guidelines, evaluation & documentation tools). We have FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE that will allow us to help the beginner get started, the busy HS mom get organized, the burned out HS family re-group & redefine, the graduating family compose transcripts for college and/or military & the life long learner find resources for continuing education at home. This requires trade or payment in ADVANCE of services being rendered.

OTHER ACTIVITIES AROUND OUR PLACE (not necessarily anything to trade....just local resources we provide....email me at livingfoods@live.com if you have any interest in these local services)
Cultured Kitchens Grocery Buying Club
Teaching Scents Essential Oils Workshops (Distributor #1019353)
Family Grocery Growers Garden Club
NE OK Homeschool Equine Club
"Call of the RAW" Monthly Potluck Dinners - Coming SOON :o)

III. OUR FAMILIES CURRENT INTERESTS (aka items we might trade for)

Small Motor Bike. Husband (6'2", 180lbs) only has to go 2-3 miles to get to work. We only have one car. He wants this to commute with. Doesnt have to be fancy or even near new....just needs to run.

Fence Supplies: Post driver, barbed wire, electric fence charger, fence posts, post hole digger, cattle/bull or hog panels, etc. Doesnt have to be new...just functional.

Greenhouse Supplies
: Heavy gauge clear plastic, gravel, plant pots, cinder blocks, exhaust fan, fishtank pumps, etc. Again, doesnt have to be new. We need to know where its from though.

Building Supplies- Lumber, sheetrock, hand tools, ceramic tile, unfinished wood trim, Solid wood front door & storm door combination, Indoor House Paint (pastel colors in semi-gloss latex), ventable range hood, etc. LATEST PROJECT = WELDING SUPPLIES NEEDED

Indoor Tools & Toys: Cider & Cheese Presses, Butter churn, Cream separator (goats milk), Good kitchen knives, laptop computer, etc.

Outdoor Tools & Toys: Lawn mower, Weedeater, Old tractor w/ implements, lawn furniture, "above ground" swimming pool, etc, pasture feeders, water troughs, anything welding or machining, bicycles, etc.

Fresh Organic Produce
(certification not required). Id rather buy locally from individuals than from the grocery store or a cooperative (ie honey, fruits & veggies, hay, etc).

No list is complete w/o BOOKS & DVD's. Favorite topics include:
* Shop skills (wood, metal, auto, etc),
* Homesteading (animal husbandry, etc),
* History (world, US, local, military, etc),
* Fundamental Biblestudy (KJV),
* Creation Science,
* Cooking & preserving (old world),
* Sports (paintball, racketball, swimming, etc),
* Blank journals,
* Biographies,
* Greenhouses (traditional, aquaponic or hydroponic),
* Animals: LaMancha dairy goats, Grass-fed chickens, Muscovy ducks, Arabian horses, etc.
* Homeschooling, the state of Oklahoma, etc.
Christian perspective always preferred when applicable.

Thank you for taking the time to read our listing. We hope it inspires you!
Bartering is a fun way to do business!
