Could someone please, please, please send me a scoby! I will be eternally grateful and I will return the favor if you ever need a scoby (mushroom). I really want to start making my own kombucha!
it is actually really easy to make one on your own
all you need it a premade kombucha such as GTS raw kombucha. Pour that in a large jar and place a towel with a rubber band around the top. Leave it in a warm area for about 2-3 weeks and a scoby will form. You can then place the scoby in a large (gallon) batch of tea with some type of sweetner (agave or honey) and let it sit for 2-3 weeks. After that take the liquid from the kombucha and seal it in bottles with a little bit more sweetner and let it sit for 2-3 more weeks. What you will have is strong fizzy kombucha. Have fun ! :)
Hi rawstrength! That sounds so exciting! Are you using honey, sugar or other method for the sugar part. Is there a way to check if there is any alcohol in yours? What flavor are you doing?
I've done plain and blueberry so far. I use organic white sugar, but I let it brew for so long that it is really tart and not sweet at all, so there is little to no sugar in the final product. I just started a five gallon batch last night!
I see him stuck, and not doing anything about it he hasn't tried. In that I mean dropping the processed crap, being positive, and trying some fruit and exercise instead of binge drinking on the weekend or sleeping when hes not working. He has VITI...
I made this back in February and yes it's all raw. It's dehydrated sprouted crackers from Rainbow, with cashew cheese, tomatoes, pesto, avocado and arugula.
I would ask him if he is interested in making a dietary change and if he shows interest then that's great! If not, be a shining example of health and hopefully one day he will come around. He has to do it when he is ready otherwise he will feel it...
