Give it to me Raw

Hola!

Would someone kindly share how to grow aloe vera indoors year round for external and internal use?

I'm particularly interested in where to get good seed or plants from, soil requirements, water, lighting etc.

Many thanks for your help.

You usually buy plants, I've never seen seeds. They propagate by small "baby" plants growing off the side of them, and these "baby" plants can then be transplanted. Go to garden shops to look for plants. I once bought some from eBay if you can't find any locally.

The best advice I can give you is don't water them too much, someone said once every 10 days, I don't wait that long, maybe once a week or so.

They grow outside in warmer climates, eg they grow outside in southern Spain.

My Granma had them growing around her house, very, robust healthy plants that she wouldn't hesitate to whack off a lush stem with a knife and apply it to sunburns. She just had them at a somewhat sunny window in cold Michigan, so I'm thinking they're a rather hardly plant. I can't wait to get going with some.

Your dog is sooo cute! I have a dog too and two cats, and I looove them! I feed them wheatgrass and they actually choose that before regular grass wich they normally chew on in the garden.

It's actually surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it. No machete required. Shave off the husk at the pointed top close to the shell. Then poke the point of a knife in about 2 or 3 cm out from the centre and wiggle it about until it pierces ...
