Give it to me Raw

Lately I have seen an increase in negativity and hostility in the raw food community and I’m concerned. I have always told my non-raw friend how much I enjoyed working with the people in the raw community because of all the positive and accepting people. Through my experience I have meet and became friends with some wonderful people. However, lately it seems like everyday I am hearing or seeing things that are completely untrue and negative being posted or e-mailed to our office about Excalibur coming from raw foodies. At first I just attributed it to people who have a motive to sell their product by trying to tarnish Excalibur’s good name. It’s sad that they feel the only way to sell a competing product is to spread miss information, but something has just gone too far. Yesterday I was informed about a post on this site which stated that the owner of Excalibur Roger Orton gave 50,000 to prop 8- the marriage is between a man and a woman-- ban on gay marriage issue for those of you who don’t know what Prop 8 is about-- this was completely un true as I am the owner of Excalibur- What is concerning is how fast people just believe what they hear, without checking the facts. There was no reason for the post as this issue has nothing to do with dehydration it was just an attempt to be negative and spread false information? What is the motivation? People posted they wished they never bought an Excalibur and we have received hate e-mail all by people saying all sorts of nasty and hateful stuff , these people 1) don’t know the facts and don’t care to ask 2) want tolerance but are not tolerant themselves. Excalibur has done more for dehydration in the raw food community than any other company; we support many teachers and donate a large portion of our profits to our global humanitarian efforts. We do not discriminate against ANY lifestyle and approach business as a vehicle to help others... So I am perplexed?

It is not just negativity towards Excalibur; I am also seeing this towards other really good people in the raw community and over other issues as well. -What is going on?? Is it the economy that has everyone in an uproar so they are looking for someone or something to take their hostilities out on? When times are tough we need to support each other, not tear each other apart and feed into negativity. Anyone have some insight for me?

Though I did hear that at RSP they went around telling venders that they were going to be fined if they were caught using any other dehyrdator brands or something like that...but, I wasn't there so I am not sure how true that really is or maybe those people had some sort of contract with Ex. or something of the like.

I find lately that most of the negativity on this site is people complaining about negativity.

I'm sorry Shauna but your post sounds like you are just upset that someone said something bad about your company. It happens, thanks for clariflying and get over it. By complaining about "negativity" you are creating new negative vibrations and manifesting more unhappiness. Kill them with kindness. Your post would flatter the roughly 4600 people on this site much more if you first stated your knowledge of this hurtful untruth being passed on this site (I personally haven't seen) and then instead of just complaining about it with rhetoric, offered 20% off excalibur dehydrators to GITMR community and maybe 25% if you're gay and want to get married. Kill em with kindness.

I bought a 4 tray excal and gave it to my mom when I bought a 9 tray, so don't be mad at me, I'm a good customer : )

Everyone take a deep breath, stop complaining and say something nice to your neighbor, even if you don't mean it -

I love you all.

We are a family of a sort, and families bicker and argue from time to time. I think a little negativity here and there is constructive and balancing.

I agree it's the anonymity that produces the "no consequences" mentality where people say things online they would never say to someone's face. It's a cyber version of road rage. Pent up anger gets dumped on others if the person thinks they can get away with it. The problem is, this IS a great community, and everyone owns an equal stake in it. When abusive people aren't called on their actions their habits are reinforced. Like Jason said, if we pile more negative words on top of an already negative energy, it only makes matters worse. Better to be constructive and firm with those who would disturb the peace. We all own this place, and we all need to see it as our collective responsibility to keep things upbeat and positive. That will sometimes involve addressing infringements when they happen in a constructive way. There WILL be people who come here to troll, to insult, and to make others feel worse. We all know people like this in real life. We have to all be clear about what is acceptable and what isn't, and be consistant in our dealings with our friends here.

Being a raw foodist does not exempt one from the human condition. It is naive to think that raw food makes one more positive and free from engaging in melodrama. IMO, what's going on here is that Shauna's company's product has enjoyed a top position in their market and people with low opinions of themselves love to take shots at successful people to make themselves feel better. Like my wingman Pete, I rarely venture too far into these discussions anymore.

Lets just not focus or even put the word "negativity" out there at all in the first place! Whatever we focus on prospers and grows and whatever we ignore withers and dies, so lets just focus on knowing that we are doing the right thing, and not respond or "feed into" the negativity, then even if it continues, you just won't notice it anymore!
Blessings!
