Give it to me Raw

Why pressing our personal believes on the people is not good for the rawfood-world...

Why pressing our personal believes on the people is not good for the rawfood-world...

This pressing never helped and will never help, generally known from practices like
pressing on personal religion to other people. (there are 13000 types of Christians, suppose
all of these will start to press their little "truth" to eachother, LOL...).

For example: Why we shouldn't discredit healthy foods like acaiberries and why we shouldn't
press on certain diets:

* There are also millions made by selling blueberries.

Hippocrates Institute for example, is also to expensive, like acaiberries, but if I see what they do, and if
I put one glance on the medical industry and compare, I know this can not be the way to promote raw food for the next 30 years or so…, and I know I should defend their intrinsic value, and the price
issue can follow maybe in a future far away, when the rawfood world will be larger and there will be more competition..

In fact: I think for example goji-berries are not very much more expensive than bluberries over here,
because they are dried, and you need a lot less of them for the same amount of nutritional-input...

Further, a lot of berries are not for sale in fresh state in my country...

Further: We (well, at least I do..) also want to give the possibility to people in these producing-countries
to earn a living with their products, and acai seems to grow abundantly in these neigbourhoods...

Further: When we are attacking people selling so called organic superfoods, we may forget that these foods are better than probably 95% of all the foods which are being selled in the world..

It is not a way to attract people to the rawfood world I think, I mean they will loose their cooked food, and also
they are told to "boycot" other foods. Same with hardcore 80/10/10 approach: nothing wrong with 80/10/10
theory, but pushing it through the throat of people will do more damage than good for the number of people
being able to step into the rawfood-world.

If we want this rawfood-world to grow quicker, we should try to forget our personal religions/moral
and give people a wide possibility of CHOICES!

We, the informed people, should reach out the WIDEST choices to people, and THEY should themselves make an new, this time informed, choice.

We should learn from the sales-managers of the cooked-world: you will never hear Toyota say that Porsche is to expensive for example, they know this will not work to attract people to Toyota, it is a non-argument, living in a commercial world.

We should not discredit any food because the USDA/FDA is much better in doing this...
Don't you think there is enough supression on natural foods from that side?
I think they will welcome our volunteer-supression...

We also should not try to try to let our personal believes dominate, while we know this will
do more damage than good for the general population.

We should decide whether to attract people or scare them from us..
We should look at the horror on the other side, and make our real decisions..

Very good points Lightlover. I'm a big fan of casting the widest possible net to attract the greatest diversity of people to the idea and practice of raw food diets. To a certain extent...."damn the details" and just eat ever larger portions of raw food as soon as possible and worry about all the bickering later (much later!)

Irony: I love details!

Just my 2 cents....

That's what I mean: copy the strategy of the big brands, but protect your contents and intrinsic value..

You can also choose to let the big brands win the law of attraction....

I like that saying: you can't have your cake and eat it...

But you can't do both!

As long as raw food is being promoted and awareness is increasing, I'm generally ok with anyone who jumps on the bandwagon with a product. As long as they aren't breaking laws and they maintain a committed customer base....I say let the market forces determine their fate.

More products and choices are a good thing. We have a very long way to go in assisting the general public toward the critical realization that every food we ingest contributes (positively or negatively!) to our well being. Increasing the number of options only improves the scope of who will be interested.

Best to keep all doors open and adopting a very general mantra: "eat as much raw food as you can...as often as you can....and as organic as you can"

I like Michael Pollan's mantra: "Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants."

that really cuts to the heart of it. I will add: "mostly raw"

But, considering the sad state of affairs with modern diets, heck....I'd like to see the number of simple vegetarians increase dramatically (before seeing a much smaller group becoming raw fooders.)

If a friend would ask me to talk 2 hours about meat (which is no problem for me) and afterwards
still decides to go to McDonalds I would still have not a single problem with that.

Because we can't do anything about dumbness directly, but we can give people the widest range of possibilities and make them decide. Make things transparent and open and complete.

And we will hope that when a large % of the population has access to wide ranges of information
the dumbness of mankind will become less. Because this can't be our final destination, after 4 billion
years of so called evolution...

Thanks so much for this post... I agree wholly, there are things that I did before that I don't do now, but those things were important for me to get into raw... the benefits of being able to feel great eating raw was what prove to me that this is what I wanted from my life, that as long as I was eating raw I felt great gave me the freedom that I needed to not feel limited or like it was too tough to do. I know some people like rules and knowledge, but knowledge is very filtered by perspective. You can't make up someone else's perception, so I think it's best to handle suggestions in the light of your own experiences and beliefs, but to the point where it is only a suggestion of an option for others to think about. Exercising our ability to intellectualize and make the connections in our own conditions is integral to health success in my opinion. Being able to trust yourself can be extremely helpful in feeling secure and lessens confusion, anxiety etc. which could be a reason for people to give up... I know that it keeps some people from even trying. Freedom is my biggest motivator, if I can experiment and customize things to my liking I am more likely to get into it. If I feel there are too many obstacles and rules around it I become bored or unattracted to it... I believe there's probably a decent amount of other people like this, it can be tough to see people make decisions that you feel could be detrimental, but most of us have made decisions all our lives that have been detrimental (SAD, drugs, etc.) and we still arrived here... we were able to choose positive things and negative things that marked our path and helped us to grow.

I really think encouraging people to use their own talents and traits to experiment, research and be open to possibilities could be a great way to motivate people to be responsible for their own success. To help people to realize that this life is a journey and there are many steps and levels of achievement, to focus less on failing, etc. and keep trying to customize what works for them, that is my goal in helping people. To give options, possibilities, motivation and support... not to decide for them.

Great addition Magic Meraa, what I wrote with white ink between the lines, is emerging in your text.

We have to reach out options to people, like we, gently as a lover, put cherries in the mouth of our beloved..

I don't think this exists for humans yet, unfortunately - but what I think would be the healthiest mattress (and virtually free of dust-mites, even bed-bugs which inflict some homes recently) for humans would be the same as the healthiest for pets...
