Give it to me Raw

So I love raw, I love and know how it makes you feel, I know it is the true cure to overall health and well being. so knowing all this why the HECK am I still eating cooked crappy foods? It is like I cant stop... all i can think about is pizza, Greek gods yogurt, and Starbucks. I know they are all bad I know they will never get me to feel good and loose weight I know all of the bad stuff so why oh please someone tell me why I'm still doing it? I'm super annoyed at myself for knowing what is RIGHT and keep doing what is wrong!!!!!!! Every night before I go to bed I say tomorrow is going to be great, I'm going to start out with a green smoothie and feel energized and bring fresh healthy fruits and veggies to work and feel good about all my choices and then..... tomorrow comes and I have my green smoothie, I bring my fruits and veggies I even eat them... but then I have Starbucks, or a slice of pizza or whatever..l. soooooooo annoying.. am I the only one with no will power out there? The only one that knows what is good, what I ultimately want but yet do everything the opposite so i don't reach my goals? HELP!!!!!!

Give yourself a break. there is more going on here than just willpower. You have to go without addictive foods long enough to break the addiction. Unless you are weeks from the grave, It really doesn't matter how long you take to transition to a healthy diet.

You will crave anything that is still in your system and some of theis stuff hangs around quite a while. Even while Juice Fasting or doing the Master Cleanse it can take months, much less while eating at best 70 to 90% raw.

Cooked oils will keep driving you back to cooked oils. Cooked sugar will keep driving you back to cooked sugar. You see as cooked versions these things are actually completely different sets of compounds and chemicals. When a scientist heats something in the lab they are doing this to change it's chemistry. It's the same in our kitchen.

How easy do you expect it to be to change a lifetime of habit and a body full of addictive substances? You wanting to change and being frustrated is all the sign I need to know that you are doing fine. It only matters now that you make the right decision about your frustration. That you push through, with patience and don't give in to the comfort of failure.

It's very important to understand how to make sure that you are not continuing to add addictive stuff to your body and for that I will give you a link to an article...

+1 JuiceItUp. This works for me, too. Exercise also helps your cooked junk cravings go away.

@Juiceitup: She probably knows the effect of dairy, etc. She wants to go raw for these reasons, but like Chris said, it's an addiction that we've had for a long time! It ain't just a matter of willpower!
I'm not judging, because I do the exact same thing so often. So, from the voice of experience: try and stop beating yourself up (I STILL do this, so I feel ya). The thing which has helped me most is: focus on ONE and ONLY ONE healthy habit to focus on each week (or even each month...) and make it a habit of ADDITION rather than subtraction. E.g.: this week, I will focus ONLY on eating a big apple before every meal. THAT'S IT. Don't tell yourself "I'm going to stop drinking Starbucks" because honey, that's just hating, and that helps no one.
Stop fighting, be gentle with yourself. Message me if you need support, I know I need all I can get!!! :)

I agree with the jist of what you are saying, it's good to work from a positive rather than a negative, yet at some point you will have to actually go without the coffee for at least 3-4 days if you want to stop craving coffee.

absolutely. but if you are trying to, for example, juice feast, run ten more miles each week, get a promotion at your job, go to your granny's funeral and give up all your bad habits at once, you'll just crash, burn and feel like shite afterwards...she shouldn't give up coffee YET if she feels pulled in a million directions...it's just one habit that needs focusing on, and you can give it up better if you're comfortable in a raw diet, not just starting up again.

Yes, I completely agree. One step at a time! exactly. as I said above "Unless you are weeks from the grave, It really doesn't matter how long you take to transition to a healthy diet."

so true...
for example, food advertising should be outlawed especially to kids.

so what is even worse is when you are addicted to NOT the caffeine.. lol I get decaf... I'm addicted to all the stupid sugar that goes into those fancy horrible disease giving drinks! And probably addicted to just the feeling of going there holding the warm pretty cup blah blah blah. Great help though Curtis :) I think sugar addiction is probably similar to caffeine :) so what you said helps a great deal :) thanks again

decaf still has caffeine, just not as much
