Has anyone else noticed that most of us who belong to GI2MR are single?!! Jade and I have been discussing this and wondering if this is because people who are into raw/veg diets are so rare to find that options are extremely limited, or is it because people into raw food just prefer to be single. Or are we too busy? Or, are most people with mates too busy to communicate on a forum like this? Worst case scenario - are raw foodies challenged in the sustainable relationship department?!! Would love to read your thoughts on this. Purely scientific research!
Wow! This is interesting. I am married to a wonderful man and we started a raw site together after being raw for a few years now. I would venture to say... I feel fortunate to be with someone who is so open to evolving and finding new ways to grow. He is the one who found the raw food lifestyle and I went along a bit grudgingly at first. But now? I'm so used to how we work together as a team, it's amazing! One of us will be soaking nuts and seeds and the other one is doing something else.
It has also made our relationship even that much better.
If I was single and raw? I know for a fact it'd be that much more challenging to find a partner! But when you do, it'll be soooo right. Good luck to you raw hot singles! Maybe you ought to have a singles night for yourselves?
Yes, that's a great idea - we should plan a singles night at the next Raw Spirit Festival happening in Santa Barbara in May. Or perhaps, I start my own matching service for earth-friendly humans!
I think a lot of it just comes down to numbers and truth... For instance, we are in the minority as raw or even just plain vegan... and then because of being raw, or maybe we're raw because of the truth seeking? but due to that (at least for me) it's hard to settle for people who just don't "get" it.
Most of us are in the minority again as far as our world views, and it's tough to find like minded people who you can also have a relationship with... but here we are ;o)... at least we've started with GITR!
"raw foodies are scarce. plus raw foodists only like other raw foodists."
i agree, i consider myself to be a rawmosexual, that's why i had to move to California, people here aren't as rawmophobic here as they are in the south
That's interesting - I had been considering something similiar (moving to an area that has a larger, more accepting community of raw foodists). I'm curious - how did you make the move? Did you apply for and get a job or how did it happen? I'm curious because since going raw in September, I've lost a friend or two and seem to be connecting mostly with people in NYC, my old stomping grounds. I've seriously been tinkering with the idea of moving back there to integrate myself in the raw food community there.
i think many of us are on a path of self discovery that is so deep that until we reach our higher goals of self actualization (and some self transcendence) we simply are not karmically capable of being in the right place at the right time to meet our life partner- opposite sex compliment- or that person whom completes us in our mission beyond mere survival and sensual enjoyment... if we really only wanted survival and sense pleasure we then could find a way to partner up with someone but some of us are so deeply commited to a higher cause that we really are invisible to the opposite sex which karmically is our path until we overcome the base emotions of gimme gimme gimme.
then there is also the techno disctractions and obsessions or our hobbies which can be so so compelling and time consuming that we really don't have that much energy to pursue relationships, since really deep down, we are already married... to our computer.
for people who becomes aware of this latest scandal, the one presented these recent days, and still are not deeply disturbed by this...for these people, nothing noone says can convince them to see the other perspective..for now.
yeah that is all fair to know, even though there's quite alot of attempts at personal attacks and discrediting people in these matters rather than just deliver straight answers to the questions.

After the third or fourth day I seem to function better then when I am eating heavy meals. My last fast I was walking eveyday. I just feel great when I am fasting.
I'm not denying the veracity of those emails... who knows. However, here is a little background on Tim Ball. I have a hard time trusting anything he says.
