Has anyone else noticed that most of us who belong to GI2MR are single?!! Jade and I have been discussing this and wondering if this is because people who are into raw/veg diets are so rare to find that options are extremely limited, or is it because people into raw food just prefer to be single. Or are we too busy? Or, are most people with mates too busy to communicate on a forum like this? Worst case scenario - are raw foodies challenged in the sustainable relationship department?!! Would love to read your thoughts on this. Purely scientific research!
Dude: I have the cure for what ails us! My herbalist friend Feather Jones told me to eat a little ginger after consuming garlic. It clears the strong odor that garlic creates in your breath and in your skin! Another idea I just had is to have speed dating at farmers' markets! I just set up a deal tonight to create the first authentic local community farmer's market in Sedona with a local farmer. Anything can happen!
I know, it's weird, right?
I was trying to explain this conundrum I'm wrapped in to an old friend yesterday: thanks to all the gorgeous food I'm eating, I feel more sensual than ever, am aware of my sexuality in new ways... but have no desire to act on it. If I see an attractive person, I'll flirt, enjoy the energetic exchange, and then simply move on... similar to how now, if I smell cooked food, I can appreciate that it smells good, but I have no desire to eat it. As the raw foods nudge me into higher vibrational states, I can still acknowledge the lower ones, but feel less compulsive need to act on them.
On less of a physical/sexual level, and more of an interpersonal level, I don't want to say I would only date a raw vegan now, but it would be hard for me to date anyone who didn't "get it" - the whole spiritual nutrition lifestyle package. As I get more tuned into this, those who aren't just aren't sexy anymore.
Finally, on an intrapersonal level - for me, going raw has been founded on and further contributed to self respect. Which, unfortunately, makes most guys thoroughly unappealing. :)
wow and I was beginning to think I was the only one lol! I've tried dating but honestly, time and time again I come to the same conclusion that I could only truly be in a lasting relationship with a raw foodist. Although we are all different, I've realized that this lifestyle does hold certain values, beliefs, and life philosophies that are really only appreciated by those on this path. And on a physical attraction level alone ....I mean, what true raw foodist wants to engage in pre-detox sex? A real raw dating site would be a great idea. I've been totally raw for 6 years, and needless to say, totally single!
Haley, I agree that the dating pool for raw vegans is microscopic compared to dating options for mainstreamers. I have come to believe that this is the primary reason that almost everyone who I know who is into the raw/vegan scene is single. Out of nearly 7 billion people on earth, how many thousands are raw vegan singles? 10,000? How many of those live in your zipcode? 10? How many of those are age and gender-appropriate to your desires? 2? How many of those haven't already slept with all your girlfriends? 0? (My number estimations are just projections based on real experiences on earth!) Maybe there should be a new, corny cowboy song called, "It Ain't Easy, Findin' Raw Love"!
Hey, whatever gets the ball rolling. I became vegetarian at 16 because I wanted to look better. Then the more I studied it, the more I became interested in the health benefits.
I watch a lot of TV. For a normal person, it's probably too much, but for an aspiring TV writer, it's probably not enough. I watch Top Chef, Project Runway, Heroes, Gossip Girl, Greek, Biggest Loser, Glee, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, and Bon...
I want to raise my vibration at every level, for many reasons. Earthly illusions such as poverty, jealousy, anger, hate, greed, abuse, weigh me down like heavy luggage. It is these very illusions that keep me separate from others and from God. Get...
Thank you guys! For the sauce, I used tomatoes, a spoon of olive oil and a pinch of any yellow spice I could find in my cupboard and some cilantro. I prepare almond milk so I used the leftovers nuts and mixed them with previous ingredients and the...
