Has anyone else noticed that most of us who belong to GI2MR are single?!! Jade and I have been discussing this and wondering if this is because people who are into raw/veg diets are so rare to find that options are extremely limited, or is it because people into raw food just prefer to be single. Or are we too busy? Or, are most people with mates too busy to communicate on a forum like this? Worst case scenario - are raw foodies challenged in the sustainable relationship department?!! Would love to read your thoughts on this. Purely scientific research!
You may have a point though. Increasing raw tends to lead to increasing spiritual awareness/enlightenment. Raw by itself is statistically uncommon. Inner peace even more so. The two combined is very, very uncommon (across an entire population).

I've been wondering this myself. Funny that you bring it up. I've often wondered why a lot of the people on this path are single, and in particular quite a few are divorced . What is up with this? I am not single, or divorced, but things have been even more difficult than they were before since I've come up with even more "strange" and new ideas, now about eating, and just living. Are we just too picky, and the "happy humans" are just out there having a good time being married, just going on with their lives not worrying too much about how someone smells or what to eat, so life is not such a big deal, just get married, enjoy it, live, eat and be merry? Have a couple kids, send them to school, believe what you're told, do everything the way society says too, then get sick, and die, with all your friends and family around you who are also just living, so they just grieve your loss, and then they get back to their happy human status? (borrowing that happy human thing from A.S.)
I think its probably because you aren't willing to just "settle". And that is a great thing.
Interesting...eating raw is kind of a "my health is more important than your approval" decision. Maybe that gets played out in other areas of our lives?

Do you have a few more words to clarify your thoughts? Sounds interesting.
Yes, I think it is "my health is more important than your approval" thing, but makes it more difficult for me, an approval seeker (trying to reform!). Also the financial aspects of it cause quite a stir. (It IS more expensive than a "from scratch" SAD diet, not matter what they say---cheaper than eating out and pre made stuff, but not cheaper than home made)
(Are you engaged to a raw food lover?--If too personal, just ignore :))
I'm engaged to a man who eats nothing green except the occasional Skittle!
When you eat raw, you choose what's right for you at the expense of fitting in or making others comfortable. So that's what I meant by "my health is more important than your approval." That attitude doesn't bode well for most relationships! But if you find a relationship with mutual respect -- either because you agree on most issues or because you embrace each others' differences -- then you probably have a strong relationship.
How are you able to make the choice each day to eat raw if you seek approval? What do you do when someone bakes you a cake and urges you to have a piece? Or when your colleagues all go out for BBQ and you end up with water? It must be very difficult!
May be it's because we are evolving consciously that it is not yet time to find ourselves in settled relationships.
I have had several short yet intense relationships since my spiritual journey began. I meet a fair amount of attractive, conscious guys, living in Glastonbury, its a spiritual vortex that has a flowing and evolving creative and spritual community Relationships reflect us. Law of attraction brings to us people who mirror our current beliefs about relationship.
Through eating raw I am contributing to my healing on all levels. I want the universe to send me my perfect mate, when I am ready this will happen effortlessly as I have experienced other forms of abundance without effort, when the time is right, things just flow.
We just keep doing the work on ourselves, all is coming.
Enjoy everything!
I just wanted to add a little extra, which is that we have within the raw community several role-models for successful , loving conscious raw relationships. I am thinking of Gabriel Cousens and Shanti, Doug Graham and Rosalin Gruber, Matt Monarch & Angela Stokes, Kevin & Ann-Marie Gianni, Storm and Jinjee... Plus some ppl from the Uk may be lesser known here such as Jessica & Tom Fenton, Angela & Andrew Davis.
Hi Loren. Thanks for that info. I often hear Naturopaths comment on how children with autism are often lacking in sodium and reccomend increasing their salt intake. I have a son on the autism spectrum and he craves salt. He drinks green smoothies ...

Hi Nicole,
We don't need any salt at all, and in fact it's always toxic to the body. Salt is a rock, and no matter how small we smash it, it is an inorganic mineral which our bodies cannot really use. Organic sodium is needed by ever single cell ...
