Give it to me Raw

i can't figure it out! I drink a 64oz. Green drink every day, with a lot of water in it. i also drink at least 6 glasses throughout the day.... but my throat feels a little dry right now, my skin is dry, my hair is dry, my legs itch and my hair is dry and brittle. When i wake in the morning (it's the worst then) I have a hangover type headache, achey muscles, dry mouth and really chapped lips. But i drink a lot of water at night to the point of peeing in the middle of the night - one time - to avoid that. I *rarely* eat dehydrated foods..... i aim to eat a lot of water rich foods. What am i doing wrong?? Is agave or stevia a diuretic???

SO confused!

maybe your electrolytes are unbalanced. do you put sea salt in your water or take magnesium supplements?

hmmm..... never thought of adding sea salt... i'll do that... any other thoughts? :)

What kind of water are you drinking?
Switch to spring water in glass or collected yourself if you can and do some experiments with this.
Salt also is what I would suggest, sun dried not cooked.
Put lemon in your water too.
Also maybe try upping your fats, more efas.
Here is a great recipe that combines all of this in one easy to make tasty drink:

If your wondering where to get some great sun dried sea salts then go here: http://www.qncenter.com/store/product.php?productid=16264&cat=0...

and here: http://radicalhealth.com/store/

Would also recommned the coconut and efa oils from above mentioned companies.

I have no affiliates with these companies only great experience with there products.

From that list, it might be lipid dry rather than water dry. Lipids are fats, in particular Omega 3 essential fatty acids. Are you doing a low fat diet? Or under a lot of stress? Or pregnant/nursing? There are lots of reasons you might not be getting enough lipids out to the skin (lipids to hair are the same lipids to skin)

hmmmm never thought of that! Thanks to Paddy as well for that help. Um.... that makes sense... i have been craving my flax meal creations in the past few days....

As far as fats. - i am eating about an avocado a day, a smaller fair share of nuts, i put hemp in my smoothies and probably overdo it on the coconut oil. :) I *AM* under a world of stress.... but i am hoping to be freeing myself from the pull of that family drama! I nurse once or twice a day..... hmmmm...... besides flax, where to get lipids?

From what you've said, there seems to be enough EFAs in your diet, but sometimes people can have problems converting the plant ones. Maybe that's part of the issue? Might be worth finding an Omega 3 supplement with lots of DHA, there are vegan ones around, but their usually more expensive than the non-vegan ones. Even though you're only nursing once or twice a day, that's still a drain on what is available for you.
If your EFAs are low, I think supplements are a good idea to get them up to an adequate level which you can maintain with the flax etc

Good advice all around, guys!

Do you have healthy fats in your diet? Like avocados, nuts, etc.?

Oh oops, I saw someone asked that above. Hmm. I will think some more. I'm sorry you are dealing with this. It could be the weather/change of seasons in part. I have a scratchy throat myself and I'm in the PNW too.

nothing dried me out more than salt. after cutting out the salt and eating a high water content diet of fruits my skin has never been more hydrated. that's what's working for me. also, have you had the heat on a lot lately? it lowers the moisture levels in the air and can really dry you out. it's good to have some humidity.

i hope your problem sorts out :)

Well we are not early man. Sitting on the computer typeing isn't natural. Not sure what being natural has to do with working out. Jumping rope at a moderate pace seems okay for someone out of shape or for a warm up. If you want it to be an effect...
