What I mean is, where are you located...in what part of the world?
You see, I have all of these self limiting things floating about in my head. All the reasons why it's nearly impossible for me to go raw. One being that I don't have much to choose from in this small town in NC that I live in.
Another limiting thought is that I don't have a whole lot of extra money to spend on organic veggies and fruits.
I know that I am wrong - and I just need to be disciplined enough to do it. I thought that by hearing others struggles (but successes) could help me find the courage to do what I know is best for me.
I don't want my destiny to be bread and jam...more like....cucumbers and even durian!! Thanks for your words - and you are right. Maybe subconsciously I am telling myself it will be too hard and I am afraid so I make excuses. With that thought in mind...I will work to change that thought pattern.
I don't usually agree with the way DR puts things but I really feel this sentence: "when we want something in life, we find a way. when we dont, we find excuses.."
I'm in a remote part of northern NY, near Canada actually.....near Lake Placid. I'm not 100% raw, but I consider myself hi-raw and in the summer, usually much closer to 100%
You may consider simply making it a goal to eat as much raw food as often as possible. This way, you'll benefit and remove the stress of having to be "all or nothing". The more raw the better... You can't talk yourself out of this approach as easily as you can find reasons to not be 100% raw because conditions aren't "ideal".
Keep sneaking in more and more raw food until it becomes more of a habit than a must. Remind yourself that each meal is a choice and each choice will impact your health. What you eat today becomes tomorrows cells! Reprogram your mind to understand food is more than taste and texture; it's fuel to burn and build....remind yourself continuously. But, don't scold yourself or feel too terrible when you slip up or simply can't eat as ideally as you plan to. This is a process and you need to be kind to yourself while continuing to take the "baby steps" toward the goal. Be patient and enjoy your journey....
LA, CA, babies! I have it lucky. I get the farmer's market on Hollywood/Vine every Sunday and I'm right between Euphoria is Rawvolution, a few different Trader Joes, 2 different Whole Foods, and Erewhon. And even the Ralph's has vanilla sapotes if I'm in need of exotic fruit after hours.
I'm in Seattle, WA where everyone has heard of a raw vegan diet and almost every grocery store has raw items. I feel like there are lots of raw vegans in this city and I love it.
True! I used to live in Seattle. For 13 years! Shopping was so easy when I was vegetarian there, let alone vegan for 2 years. Even at regular grocery stores, there are at least a few aisles for organic products and not just produce. It's like a mini Whole Foods in each store. And it's 24/7.
YES Svelte! I love that about my city. Why ever would you leave such a place?? I am in love with going to the grocery store. I don't plan ahead on purpose so that I can go every day. Plus, Seattle has Pike Place and small farmers markets everyday. I feel it was a breakthrough when they started carrying Thai coconuts at like every Safeway. Very veg/raw friendly place.
I've watched that. It is so weird that they have that show on. I also watched the old v's. They are a trip- with 80s hair and the spacesuit type outfits they wear. If you look at how small our planet is compared to others like Niburu- you can see ...
I'm on a computer in the library right now (as I was on Thursday), so any posts may be a little short. I was a little stressed by the reapplication information about the CAB because I had the same issues with finding paid work to fit around it bef...
Thanks for checking this out Vamp. It is truly amazing if you can be open minded enough to watch the video. People act like we haven't invented space travel. If you can accept that- then how hard would it be to accept jumping onto a planet that is...
starting to plan for this now ! right in the midlle of holidays !
i'm thinking about doing a week, but may extend with blended foods depending on how much detox I experience. Can't get the 'flu' just yet.
thanks....so grateful & dave is the best !...
Hi El-bo,
You're absolutely right; sodium is not the problem, but sodium chloride, and inorganic mineral salt which always causes water retention and raises blood pressure. We don't need any of that.
