Give it to me Raw

What I mean is, where are you located...in what part of the world?

You see, I have all of these self limiting things floating about in my head. All the reasons why it's nearly impossible for me to go raw. One being that I don't have much to choose from in this small town in NC that I live in.

Another limiting thought is that I don't have a whole lot of extra money to spend on organic veggies and fruits.

I know that I am wrong - and I just need to be disciplined enough to do it. I thought that by hearing others struggles (but successes) could help me find the courage to do what I know is best for me.

Thanks in advance :)

Hi Rebecca Lynn I think it is fabulous that you know your thoughts are so important in your experience.

I am in the south also in Tn.

I do not know many people here who are raw so that is why I soooooo enjoy this group , it is the perfect support.

I have been on and off RAW for like 5 years. The last time I went off I knew that I would never stray to far ever again. It is just what my body LOVES.

My mindset for food is that it is not for entertainment anymore but I am 43 and did the eat for entertainment all through my youth. So for me it is just the best TIME.

I do not think that others should eat like me so it is really a non issue if anyone else does it.

I just enjoy the ever glowing skin and fabulous new figure everyday and wonderful energy .

Thanks for the inspiration for this outpouring. If you ever need inspiration simply ask I am always wanting to uplift.

LOVE AND BLESSINGS KIM

Greetings! I live in such a small town we're not even on the map...our largest supermarket is Shoprite. Their organic produce section is super small and I'm raw. I live in the very southern tip of NJ, close to beaches and such. My advice to you...if you want to do it just do it. No excuses, determination is the only thing you need to succeed. Hope this helps...oh and remember if you can't get everything organic don't fret at the very least it will be raw. Baby steps!!

Hey honey! Another NC'er here! I am in Durham/Chapel Hill area. Where are you at? We used to spend tons at Whole Foods, and we have found that growing our own is much easier. You can always sprout, no matter where you live. We supplement most of our meals with sprouts during the winter, when local produce dries up. Go to your local farmer's market, or see if there is a small family farm nearby-we have one, and bless his heart, every other week during the summer, there's something new. He just places it on a large table outside, with a money box. It's always very endearing to see someone still using the "honor system" for purchases. Mono mealing is what I do most of the day. I have a mono meal for breakfast, and one for lunch. So, I grab usually apples and bananas for both meals, then supper is usually a huge salad, or if I feel like doing more, a fancy meal. It's doesn't have to be a big production going raw. I know when I first started out, *I* made it complicated. Most of the old timers will tell you, the further into your raw journey you go, the simplier it gets (meal wise). By fruit by the case at the farmer's market, and you'd be surprised how much you can save. Yes, I do go through cases a week! :)

Hey Alicia, I am in Elizabeth City, NC. Virginia is pretty close - 45 minutes and I am in VA Bch.

Thanks so much!! I have been on and off again (much off time) raw for 5 or 6 years. The first time I went raw, I changed over night - completely. I went from eating bread and cheese to banana's and apples! It was fabulous though! I had a great mentor with me most of the time though, and I could call him with any questions I had. I also lived in WPB, FL. So, the fruit and veggies - farmers markets - whole foods... were plentiful!! It was easy there, so easy! Well, I stayed raw for about 2 years and once again over night - I was back to my old ways.

I had never felt better in my life! I want to go back!! I want to find that discipline that I once had. So, this is why I am putting myself out there in hopes of receiving some inspiration - and thank you, I already have some!!!

ok. you are doing great and you know your body-mind-spirit loves it where you are. so no struggle. you are doing great. you will always choose the best that you intend for your body.

i dont know anybody who is a hardcore raw or a mentor here. but is it important? you are your best guide. what i love most is that two of my best gfs went raw right after me. and no i didnt persuade or tell or anything. one was vegan but the other wasnt. both are doing high raw now. and is it really important to be full raw or 80% or whatever. what is important is that you follow your body and heart and be at PEACE.
I must say India is full of fresh produce everywhere, being a tropical country, full of fruits and coconuts. but every place has its own charm. dig it and you will find out.i totally totally miss seaweeds, superfoods(ah wish we had more of that available) and cacao. you would definitely have plenty of that there in the US. so enjoy them all ;)

I'm in a small town outside of Boston.

And I'm pretty much a low-fat fruitarian. Which means I eat LOADS of fruit and there isn't a lot of variety up here which made it difficult in the winter. I just fasted a lot and ate loads of bananas and dates.

The lack of variety is why I am going to move to the tropics in August.

But if you want to do raw, you will do it. All the excuses won't matter anymore and you will find a way. You have to WANT IT.

This is what my mom recommends too. The thing is I live in a high-rise building in NYC, so I'm definetely not "grounded". The grounding bed technology makes sense, but it doesn't feel natural to me. Has anyone tried it? Did you notice any changes...

Would soaking them help? I've read that nuts in general has alot of anti-nutrients & soaking is always suggested.
