What was the first thing you saw improve on a raw diet?

For me, it wasn't weight loss (alas). It was that my skin suddenly cleared up. Note that I have had cystic acne for years. And years. And years. It stubbornly resisted treatment of any kind. I got used to people (sometimes strangers) coming up to me and telling me their BIG SECRET for how to clean my skin. 9 times out of 10 it was something I'd already tried (and one out of ten it was something truly bizarre).

Now people grab me by the face (which can be a little uncomfortable) and go "WHAT HAPPENED???"

I still get the occasional blemish, but trust me, I'll take the rare spot over the sea of little cysts that used to sprinkle all over my chin, cheeks, and forehead...

Our gym on campus is closed for renovations and the city I live in is very unsafe to run in (I live in the 2nd most dangerous city in America). I used to work out in the school gym on the elliptical and treadmill for forty minutes every day to every two days...

Perhaps I should try dancing since I can do that in my room. Thank you for the advice!

I did 90%+ monomeals from the start, and my skin and digestion instantly became INSANELY good, I couldn't imagine how they could have been better. Also, mental clarity after 2 weeks was undeniably supercharged - I felt high for a month.

My tastebuds, on the 5th day I could taste everything so clearly. It amazed me, I didn't expect it and it made everything taste more intense.

You know, I noticed my sense of smell got really intense after a few weeks. Walking into the produce section is like WOAAAHH!!! now. :)

I tried eating all raw many many times, but I'd always be bloated and felt like I had to choose between feeling a bit more energetic, to looking pregnant. And quite frankly cooked always won on that. - I'd already given up meat long years before I tried raw, so I guess I wasn't in such a bad state of health already.

Since I started to combine foods properly and eat low fat, more energy, better digestion, shorter periods, easier and more frequent bowel movements (sorry!), feeling more at peace, more serene.

I don't know about my skin, my only skin complaints were always dark circles and they seem to have vanished.

But I still don't have raw down completely. I eat cooked every now and then. I probably don't eat enough either.

I'm not 100% raw all the time either so I hear you...all one can do is love, forgive, and move on.

I noticed here in the UK, eating a large proportion of raw food in my diet has helped me with the Flu Virus going around.
Energy levels much much better too.

I believe that the body can heal itself if given the support. I'm a nurse in a nursing home and I've seen the body cling to life no matter how much poison is thrown at it.

Sounds ridiculous to me. Anyone actually older and experiencing longevity there? I doubt it. I live out in the country in the general direction of God's fart zone and perhaps that's better than getting caught up in this sort of materialistic stuff...

Hi agree with Erin, everything she suggested is very similiar to wha ti have found. I am also seeing an accupuncturist and realize that we actually need cooked foods in our diet to support the spleen. Healing with whole foods is a great start..
