I've just been hired by a local cafe to add some raw dishes to their menu. I'm looking for some suggestions for types of dishes to add to the menu. They need to be somewhat SAD friendly and not too complicated(I'm thinking no dehydrator) I'm meeting with the owner tomorrow and she wants some samples. Anybody have any suggestions or ideas??
So here are a few 100% raw things I've had recently at the Daily Juice Cafe in Austin that have blown my mind:
"Carrot, Apple, Cinnamon, Ginger Pancakes topped with Banana and Pecans and Goji, Vanilla, Agave Syrup" - mindblowingly, simply mindblowing.
"Tomato Basil Stew with Corn" - I couldn't explain to you why, but it feels *emotionally* just like a really hearty stew.
The thing is, objectively these really aren't all that close to their SAD counterparts even in terms of texture or flavor (they are usually much much better, and quite a bit different) but *emotionally* they invoke the same sorts of comforting feelings the SAD food did.
you can do raw bread and cheese - always a favourite when i feed non rawies, and there are so many people who are gluten and lactose intolerant who crave a decent alternative, the raw bread and cheese on purely raw link I give at the end of this post is always a wonner, people love it and are amazed by it. Also cheap and easy to make!
Desserts always go down well - cakes especially. But a simple and extraordinarily tasty thing is a banana crepe with berry jam and nut/seed creem filling. You just process bananas until they're liquidised in food processor, dehydrate until still flaxible, then wrap up with raw jam (berries and dates) and creem (sunflower seeds or nuts, dates, pinch salt, drop lemon juice, water) and it is a really decadent raw snack.
There are other recipes that I've used on plenty of non raws on here, we used to do a raw food delivery and catered numerous dinners for SUKD and SAD people with these recipes, that we fine tuned, tested and played around with for years to get them perfect - enjoy ! : http://purelyraw.com/recipes.htm
well at least if you've SUKding you're not SAD whilst you're doing it ;0
but then I suppose if you're SAD at least you don't SUK - it is just a (non) raw deal either way!
Hi April,
We get a fair number of applicants, and it varies all the time.
It is absolutely NOT required that someone be raw for any length of time. What is required is that someone be truly open and coachable.
This is paradigm-busting stuff bas...

Pretty interesting. It was hard to tell what he was for and against though, haha. I would hope to be in as good condition as him when I'm 91..... or better :j
I guess if you think of it as eating raw as what God intended, and makes us the purest version physically of what were meant to be, then maybe it is a way to get closer to God and clear away the distracting mess of sickness, and the hormone and em...
Here is Part 4 to the Stanley Bass interview. Many people have asked me what I think about this interview, I will be posting a video reply in my next episode after this one.
