Raw Food not only changes your relationship with health - it also changes your relationship with money. Raw Food and holistic education starts to make you really present to where your dollars are going and what impact they have on people + the planet.
Question: What don't you spend money on now that you use to? How have your dollars shifted since embarking on your health journey? What business do you support and not support?
Specific examples would be fantastic! We want to learn from your experiences.
Supporting fair trade! And I was/am a fashion buff!!! Love it!! But raw has made me more conscious of the earth and others. Plus I choose not to do the nightclub scene anymore....meaning no high highs and outfits....which leaves me with much to sell!! :)
And everyone sees its so expensive, but really its just all about rearranging. Yea my grocery or farmer's market receipt is a little hefty but that bill doesn't include scented creams, lotions, washes that I used to use....instead I wash my face with water! :) And sometimes ACV.
To benefit earth and others has a lot to do with my buying decision, and even the way I am at work.... more enviro-friendly fo sho! :)
Makeup, deodorant, waxing, junk food, gimmicks to make cellulite and under eye circles go away, advil, taxis, I'm sure there is more, but I cant think of it
i was fuckin depressed most of my teenage. coffee, and gluten must have added fuel to fire. i dont know what cured them all. i just became very positive some years later. and ofcourse raw high raw helped immensely! the fog all cleared up!
and to feel and realize with relief that happiness is the natural state to be is the greatest relief!!!... it is strange when we go through depressions we do not sometimes get to realise this.
I'm SO happy not to spend so much money at the grocery store anymore!! i used to have to make lists and then spend a fortune on things like bread, chips, soda, ice cream, canned stuff, milk, blah blah blah! all of the money going to these horrible causes AND not serving me one bit!
i used to walk up and down the aisles disappointed because nothing looked really good to me...nothing!!
now, its o so refreshing and liberating to visit ONE section, ORGANIC PRODUCE!! and see EVERYTHING i could ever want in a meal!! yay!!! i need to start going to the local farmers market!! then i won't need to go to the store at all!!
hooRAW!
1. Magazines. Fashion magazines, fitness magazines, etc. I still get one in the mail (they send it free and have ignored my cancel requests) and if I do look through it, it angers and depresses me.
2. Television! I have not had cable in 10 years, and we did not buy an HDTV, so no more tv for us.
3. restaurants, although I was never a big restaurant eater in the first place
4. Diet gimmicks
Petrol. I`m a lot more careful with my car, walk, cycle and use public transport more.
Also: presents. We tend to buy so much junk for each other ("It`s the thought that counts") which is low quality and which the other person does not really want, because giving presents for certain occasions is the done thing. I have now cut this down - I buy for a lesser number of people, but I can afford to spend more money on each present, which gives me more scope to buy them something they really want.
Amen, Loren. So do you feel the same way about blending then? The whole fiber is still there with blending so not improving on nature as much as sort of 'pre-chewing', if you will
I'm planning to start enemas too (I think when my roommate will leave next month...). Of course it's unnatural, but we have eaten unnatural for years and years and I believe it can help a lot getting out the waste.
I just wanted to ask, what water...
I have a full size Excalibur that I never use. What an investment huh?
