Give it to me Raw

I call / label my diet, first, vegan, then low-fat, then raw fruigivore . Eureka!! My diet is vegan low-fat raw-fruigivore diet. Being low fat is more important to me than being raw-fruigivore. If I can't find fresh fruits and green leaves I look for good quality dried /frozen ones. If I can't find these either I go for steamed veggies and grains. If I can't find them I go for nuts and avocado, Then dairy and eggs, then fish, then meat, Then!!? I don't wan't to think about that,
Which is more important to you being vegan, low/high fat, or raw?

i am a vegan with raw tendencies..

but often i'm high raw with green tendencies...

but lately i'm half raw with coconut water tendencies..

and i've always been bi with tendencies toward men...

and then, I ask myself, does the label really matter at all in the end?

Suvine,

I certainly did not intend to undermine Hani's question in the slightest, it is a great one...which is why I joined this discussion in the first place, sharing the labels with which I identify.

But now, I am not only wondering what labels we all identify with, but how important they are to us here, and how the notion of labels affects us.

Well, the subject interests me because most of the time people try to behave in a way to fit the definition. Like stop eating honey or throw out old leather shoes just to fit the definition of vegan in the dictionary. It should be the other way aroung terms should be formulated to fit the behavior. Thanks for your response

Suvine , You can call your self a honey eating vegan. A friend asked me if I had anything made of leather, so I told her I have a very old leather belt. She told me so aha!! you are not vegan, because she looked up "vegan" in the dictionary and according to it I'm not vegan.

Hani,

I agree with you that people get stuck on behaving in order to fit a label, rather than allowing their behavior to come naturally and making label to work around THEM, if one fits.

I think we should create who we are on our OWN TERMS, and then let the labels follow us, dammit. We are raw foodies, we are already trailblazers. Well said!

High Raw. I eat as many raw fruits and vegetables that I can (even if I'm not perfect). I also eat raw fish and meat.

If anyone outside the rawfucom asks, I just tell them I'm fussy. It cuts down a whole load of to-ing and fro-ing that usually ends with them announcing that I'm fussy.

Since you're rawfu though, my best answer is that I'm a vegan raw aspirant. Vegan is my ethical priority and raw is my health priority. I achieve both only imperfectly, though I never eat meat or cheese. I don't try to avoid eggs but never end up eating them. I have been wont to have milk in a particularly self destructive mood, because it makes me feel like shit on all fronts, and sometimes that's apparently what I'm after (?!). I sometimes have eaten fish, though I aspire to rid my diet of it and am gradually achieving that. Raw is increasingly my default position (where did I ever get time to cook?! And why take a perfectly gorgeous load of ingrediants and kill them?), though I'll eat cooked in social situations but always make sure I get something raw with every meal, and usually ask for extra salad. In Chinese resturants, I order the mixed veg stir fry but ask them not to cook it.

I am not bothered about low or high fat but generally avoid something which is relatively high in both fat and carbs - say dates with tahini - except if I want a treat.

I'm feeling deprived; I might have been a little too...early for these books. Sounds like they might be worth checking out though as I love a good children's book. Probably the right emotional level for me...
