Wake Up and Roar by Papaji, H W L Poonja.

The last book I read was My life with Bob Marely by Rita Marley. It was pretty interesting although at times I felt that it was a bit one sided, like when she was getting into the nitty gritty of their marriage I wanted to hear Bob's side of things...I thought she was a bit unfair to get so personal in places but I guess that's what punters like me want!

A friend just gave me

Godel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid --It's intense and VERY long.

I'm also reading Jean Baudrillard's, System of Objects --which I am enjoying very much.

Baudrillard, what a crazy, brilliant man. I think he nearly killed me.

I am into about 4 different books right now. That's the one thing about being an English teacher-- you read a TON but it's barely for pleasure :-)

I'm in the middle of the following:

Johanthan Safran Foer: Extemely Loud and Incredibly Close
Eckhart Tolle: A New Earth
Millman: The Way of the Peaceful Warrior
Chuck Palahniuk: Invisible Monsters

My goal is to finish them all this summer!

Kate,

Eckhart Tolle: A New Earth
Millman: The Way of the Peaceful Warrior

Definitely great books!

I am reading now : " I feel, therefore I am" from Dr. Antonio Damasio

It is about the biological ground of all our thinking..

He talks a lot about "the feeling of the self" which is, I think< one of the most important
subjects in conscious and sub-conscious life....

Damasio is lovely, but just curious, why are you reading that?

Winesburg, Ohio by Sherwood Anderson. A novel from 1919 with each chapter telling the story of a different person in the town. Anderson's writing had a big influence on Hemingway, Faulkner, John Steinbeck, Caldwell, Saroyan, and Henry Miller.

Tonight I glanced through David Wolfe's new book on superfoods. It contains my recipe for raw chocolate hemp blueberry balls. But, I don't remember saying to include that much agave. Whew! If you make them, use less agave. Oh, and I also grind the pumpkin seeds first using a coffee grinder. You can also use raw carob instead of raw chocolate. If you don't have access to dried blueberries, you can use currants.

Larabars are 100% raw (well, most of them) and they're really good. Think Organic bars are raw and organic. You'll get twice the Larabar for less money, but they're both really good.

Please share your easy desserts. I've finally gone 100% raw, but I'm having a hard time staying way from candy... (I haven't caved yet) I'm looking for desserts that don't need nuts as I'd like to eat them after dinner. Thanks!
