Give it to me Raw

What's the best way to stay warm from the inside out?

I get very cold sometimes, I think particularly when I have anxiety. It's becoming winter and I need to find a way to warm my body. In cold weather my hands get very cold, and I shiver sometimes.

Suggestions????

I am like this too, with the hands tendency to get cold.

Run your hands under hot water... feet too...

Drink hot herbal teas...

Look into foods with warming properties...

Black and white pepper, ginger, garlic, cayenne, walnuts, green onions, and chili peppers are particularly warm and stimulating.

* Nutmeg
* Squash
* Sunflower seeds
* Walnuts
* Chestnut
* Brown sugar
* Clove
* Coconut
* Dates
* Fresh Ginger
* Coriander
* Chives
* Rice wine or vinegar
* Cinnamon
* Black pepper
* Green/red pepper
* Caraway
* Mustard greens
* Pine nuts
* Rice milk
* Parsley
* Cayenne
* Turmeric

lots of ginger tea helps, as does massage and yoga, and excercise coz it is your circulation that want to get flowing to move your warm blood around to heat you up. Keep moving!

Thank you guys. I'm sure your suggestions will help, but I want to approach this problem directly. I found out about cold/hot therapy, where basically you put your hands in ice water for a few minutes, then you put your hands in warm water and you repeat this process until the warm and the cold water become lukewarm. So I started applying this principle to the shower, I let it get REALLY hot, then I turn it COLD. It feels very strange but I think it's teaching my body to handle harsh temperatures. David Wolfe suggests doing this. I finish off with cold water and when I get out, I feel warm.

I don't know how well this will play out because I think the main source of my cold hands is anxiety. When I'm nervous, I get super cold. When I'm relaxed, comfortable, and confident, I'm okay in cold temperatures. In fact, sometimes my body gets really warm. I don't know but hopefully I'll discover something

Control your thoughts and breath deeply.

And when you feel your circulation dropping. Do some activity to pump blood.

Cold drinks make you warm inside. And hot drinks make u cool.
Equal and opposite reaction. But i would still feel compelled to drink hot when the temp outside is cold.

In bed at night - use hot water bottles.

Hot then cold water showers are circulation pumpers.

i take cold baths, and I also only wash my hair in cold water. It really does improve circulation and get you very cold resistant. Doesn't hurt to try it does it?
doing yoga will help you to stay calm, relaxed and release nervous tension, as would meditation. Same thing.

hydrotherapy. if you sit in water around your hips. with ur legs and ur torso out of the water.

u pump a lot of blood to ur glands in ur genital area. this area has so much nerve force. it pumps blood really well.

but u gotta know ur limits and not CHILL. Chilling is undoes all the good work. unless it's the cool type where you're meditating.

spine baths are good for nervous people. this is laying in about 5cm of cold water on your back.
or a towel soaked in cold water.

these r the best - done with sunlight.

I've been doing this too. My tolerance for both extremes has increased, and it feels really good too... relieves stress, very relaxing...

Yeah it's normal to me now. I don't do it really hot though because i'm a wussy. It's more like warm-cold. But then again if i was living in a cold climate it would be hot-cool/cold.

Sometimes on a hot summer day - just cold.

Cold water pumps blood. It brings blood to the surface. Whereas hot water makes blood go away from the surface.

I'm doing a lot of study on hydrotherapy. And when i get some rest and my brain is rejuvenated. I'll do a blog on hydro.

If you have juicer (best yield comes with non centrifugal) then try juicing ginger root and adding it to either warm or hot water to drink. I use use ginger and cayenne a lot especially in winter as the are both circulatory stimulants and therefor...
