"I tried supplementing to make up for what I wasn’t getting by leaving animal products out of my diet, but the more I studied what I was missing in order to supplement it, the more substances I discovered. I’ve finally bowed to mother nature and admitted that I can’t do it better than her."
as far as the nutrients that are in food that science has discovered, name the ones not in plant foods besides maybe b12 and i'll maybe be more convinced however as far as i can see all amino acids, minerals, efas, vitamins, antioxidants and phytonutrients can be obtained from plant foods to the point of satisfying rdi or going FAR beyond them. i think its more a stupid mindset and word that loves to be thrown around 'deficient' and then all these people (not everyone but the majority of people seem to think like this) go into fear mode without even thinking it through or looking at the numbers properly. i mean for example this statement, daniel vitalis doesn't even back up. what is everyone of these people deficient in? iron which is in alot of plant foods especially greens even though i know meat eaters deficient in iron?! protein when you've got sources or protein like nuts, seeds especially hemp and chia, spirulina and the amino acids that are in all fruits and vegetables? it's just a soundbyte in my opinion that makes people think oh yeah i probably should eat from all four kingdoms because i'll become 'deficient' in the x factor. i mean really if vegetarian and vegan diets are so deficient we'd all be dropping dead and these people going vegan and raw wouldn't be feeling and looking so good like so many do. yes some people do run into problems on the diet but it doesn't mean everyone is going to become deficient.
nice thinking. people in the WEST don't suffer from disease of deficiency. they suffer from diseases of excess. think about what excess does on the body. It is STRESS.
metabolism doesn't work efficiently under stress.
most problems are mental. 99% of us our brain dead and traumatized. anything can cause anything.
come back tomorrow for another exciting moment on the ex-vegan's blog. chimp catches monkey. chimp tears monkey limb from limb (pun intended). chimp beats monkey skull and splatters brain on tree trunk. chimp enjoys monkey brain ala tartar.
so what does a monkey eat, that a chimp can't eat? (yes, i've studied chimps aka jane goodall, etc. so i know and have seen them eat monkies).so, the questions not one from sarcasm, but, one to add to the discussion.
monkey meat is guesstamated to be 2% + or - of their diet.eaten raw. is it for protien? or availability? the season. the monkies are close and playful. quick grab one. much of our dietary needs in the past may of been based on what was avaiable in the season. now, in this time, the quest for money has made many fruits and veggies available in almost any season, thru shipping and product preservation. doesn't make it a good choice. we've got ways to keep a gut full, but, not with optimal choices.

Thats interesting but would the body react differently to fruit sugars as opposed to all the other sugars? I didn't have these spots when I spent most of my time partying and living on junkfood.....
