Give it to me Raw

I've been a 90% raw foodist for 7 months now, and i want to go 100%. most days I'm 100% but like clock work i find myself eating stuff that is less then healthy for me. it's seems the more healing and cleansing my diet the harder and sooner i fall off the wagon... I want raw foods to be a lifestyle for me so i just get right back to the raw foods every time so being high raw isn't really my problem. ... and then 2 months ago i got a juicer. yay! but immediately after enjoying a really big green juice i have the biggest and worse cooked food craving relapse ever on a raw food diet!!! it put all my other relapses to shame! every time i have a green juice I'm like an uncontrollable woman!!! I have to undo all the healing i just did... I've been trying to slowly work my way onto green juices because I'm sick and i really really want to heal!

soon after having green juices i get antsy, i start pacing the house, my thoughts are racing, i find myself clenching my hands.. i get a nasty electric burning feeling along my skin... i really feel like i am going insane...... like an addict jonesing for a drug! I think this is happening to me in a lesser degree on raw foods which is why I'm not 100% yet. so if i could stop this from happening then I think the biggest hurdle I'll have to leap in my raw path will finally be behind me.

I watch alot of youtube and i think I've heard multiple places that it is the parasites that are controlling me. that overweight people all have parasites.. that 95% of the parasites people get are from cats poop... I've been exposed to an insane amount of cat poop... I'm over weight... i feel like i am being controlled...

should i try to do something for parasites? if so what should i use? and can it be done successfully with my diet as is since i can't seem to start a juice feast for that cleanse?

does anyone think that there might be another reason for my inability to get strict with myself?

I haven't done a parasite cleanse. That will be interesting to see if it helps. I heard papaya seeds can kill parasites and caprilic acid can kill candida. Bacopa can help appetite. I have tried it and it worked for me. I have it in powder form. I used about 1 tsp in a smoothie and it made it taste like chewing on a rubber thong. So not very pleasant. =) You can do it!

What are you putting in your green juices? I have a tendency to be similarly anxious, but really feel soothed by simple juices.

I agree with Elbow! It's easy to fall into a trap of sales gimmicks, especially when you're desperate for change. Believe me, I've been there. What are your eating habits like when you're 90% raw? What is the 10% that's 'not' raw?

Be gentle with yourself, these changes take time. You've created a lifelong habit; it won't be broke in a month, or even a year. I eat cooked vegan for dinner with my family, and I've found peace with that. Are you exercising? Have you tried a short juice fast? Water fast? Lots and lots to consider!

what i put in my green juices is usually 50% to 75% greens from romaine lettuce, cilantro, celery, cucumber, parsley, spinach, kale, aloe, cabbage, and any other green i happen across like fennel or bok choy. the rest of my green juices have things like pomegranate, oranges, red/yellow bell pepper, grapes, tomatoes, apples, prickly pears, pears, and anything else i happen across that sounds juicy. =^-^=

all my juices i like them to have enough fruit juice in it to make it taste sweet enough that i believe i am getting enough calories.. almost like koolaid >_<<br />
what i eat on my 90% raw food diet is umm, I'll have to break that up. At home, I have green smoothies with ingredient similar to my juices except i like having mango, banana, blue berries, black berries, papaya, and i like to put alittle maca, bee pollen, honey (if i used too many veggies), cinnamon, hemp seeds, nutmeg.. anything that i thought wouldn't ruin the flavor. i use to do 15 to 30 ingredient smoothies but as time passes i average around 10. i juice often now, i have a bad habit of grabbing nuts and eating them... i do salads sometimes... my favorite breakfast item is a melon (cantaloupe, honeydew, water melon, Juan canary).. i grab fruits and just eat them straight often.

as for cooked things i eat... a roll of sushi every other week, eating out with my dad.. about once weekly, we will go somewhere like souper salad and i will have a big salad.. instead of dressing i will usually pile on alot of diced beets i know were prolly canned.. i will eat the baked veggies (truly something that keeps me sane) .. and worst of all... i will get a soup.. usually the one with the most veggies in it and if it has meat i pick it out and give it to my dad... i don't think that meal is horribly bad since yes it does make me a tad tired.. but no more then the raw onion bread I've made or alot of nuts... i did have a whole bowl of chicken and dumplings veggie stew last week that made me fall into an 8 hour sleep after i had been awake only 4 hours... so i know my body is sensitive enough to tell me what defiantly what NOT to eat again. cooked veggies.. okish... pasta not! and honestly my sugar addiction is satisfied with the fruits i eat. i do have an inflammatory condition I've noticed gets worse for a small amount of time after eating any type of meat so I'm striving for being a vegan for health's sake. pasta/dumplings/bread = lights out... they take too much energy for me to digest and are by far the hardest thing for me to give up. T_T I've only over indulged in them once with the dumplings.. if i do have them i will only have them in the smallest amounts possible. and if i remember to bring them, i take digestive enzymes when i eat something cooked. dairy isn't even a blip on my cravings meter, i conquered that a decade ago when i realized i was lactose intolerant. =^-^=

I don't think this diet is all that bad even though it's not 100%.... since I've lost 45 pounds, and I've cured myself of some ailments and not a single one of the ailments i still hasn't ... well.. all of them have shown continued improvement. I guess i am just antsy to get 100% healthy which is why i want to be 100% raw! so if you rated on a scale from 1 to 10 on how healthy i felt before raw and now... i guess i was a 3.. maybe a 4.. I'm about a 7 now. the way I've been looking at it is that at 90% i can prolly only get to a 9. and my goal is to feel a 10... and i am someone who could injure themselves by walking half a mile straight and take a week to recover... and at 1 time, just picking up 10 pounds could cause me injury that would take days to heal from. just picking up an apple was painful... breathing was painful.... now? painless breathe! yay! i can pick up my 6.8 lbs cat not even a twinge of pain. my 13 lbs chihuahua i feel some discomfort on... and a couple weeks ago i picked up a 32 lbs winter squash.. i felt some pain. yes i did... but the next day it was like any other day.. no recovery time needed. =^-^= I can walk a couple miles before i start hurting myself and if i rest at least every mile i can cover tens of miles in a day sooo i can shop all day long if i want to. ;D

still, i want more! I've never been healthy, i don't even know what that could feel like.be healthy and i want what has been denied me. Health.

yeah i think the complexity of my smoothies is due to the fact i was raised in a family that ate 1 of this or 1 of that.. loved salad bars.. 1 scoop of everything the salad bar offered.. have a fruit? sure, 1 orange.. next fruit? 1 apple, 1 banana.. but...... 1 banana doesn't make a smoothie.... no were near filling up the blender... so 1 of everything i come across until i have a nice 64 oz of smoothie...now that i really think about it... maybe i should have 2 of everything.... and once i get use to that.. 3 of something! until i find myself having 2 to 5 things in my blender at a time? o_o

I'm with Elbow! You may want to start cutting down. You'll find that the higher raw you are, the more 'in tune' you are with how food affects your body. Even raw foods affect you! I find that maca and cacao make me feel jittery, especially cacao. When I eliminated these things completely from my diet, it made me soooooo calm.

Right now, I'm digging spinach-banana-orange smoothies. I put the orange in to help absorb the iron in the spinach. My favorite juice was always cucumber and spinach. So simple, so smooth! Cucumber, to me, tastes wicked sweet in a juice. Give it a whirl!

It's FANTASTIC that you are asking these questions. Never stop! That inquisitive spirit is what will guide you through this journey. We all have lots of advice, but everyone is so different. I used to have a highly anxious personality, and making my meals as simple as possible really, really grounded me. In the summer, I tend to monomeal a lot. I get a wide variety, of course, but there's nothing like sitting and eating a whole pound of cherries then eating a whole bag of oranges two-three hours later. Nomnom.

hehe i know about that satisfaction with just eating 1 thing in a meal... it's why breakfast is a mono-meal of melon <3 <3 <3 and that could be interesting is i just moved my thoughts from 1 banana to 1 bunch of bananas..... and 1 apple to 1 bag of apples ;D but knowing myself, i might find danger in that... all fine and well with fruit but i know if i did that too much i'd not get enough greens... because i almost always reach for the fruit before the veggies... though i have been known to eat 1 head of romaine lettuce plain. =^-^=

Necro....my suggestion on the juicing. This is what I did when I first started juicing:
I would make a juice of cucumber, celery, apple, lemon, ginger....this is my standard juice in the morning. Then I would take a couple of cups of that juice and put it in the Vitamix. Then I would add a banana and an apple and maybe some greens. This gave me an added boost to my green smoothies. As time went on I became accustomed to more of the juice and less of the whole foods for my morning juices. These days I make a couple of quarts of green juice in the morning and drink it throughout the day.
Maybe your reaction to the juicing is that you have too much sugar in the juice. Try using green apples...they have less sugar in them. Sounds like a nervous reaction to me.
I personally would focus more on the diet and realize that it is just fine if you never go 100% raw. The more raw foods you incorporate into your life the better, but it shouldn't be something that consumes you. It can take people years before they become comfortable being very high raw all of the time.
As for being overweight....the weight will eventually come off. There are many on this site who can attest to that.
