Give it to me Raw

Sooooooo....ladies and gents..I just google searched top 10 raw superfoods....and it came up with a whole bunch of sites with JUST superfoods....including Steak, Eggs, Salmon....somehow I dont think Steak and Eggs are up there on the RAWWW superfoods list....

So I've found one question Google cant answer.. ;)

Can you lovely people help me out...I've just done a trip to my local but very small organic shop and came away with 2 lara bars...thats all they had that was raw, other than a few bananas and oranges... :p

Oh, yes: melon. All sorts of melon. Especially seeded. Get or grow seeded watermellon - it has a stronger biophoton light energy charge.

And, learn about rejuvelac. Easy to make fresh at home - some healthfood stores are selling it for ourtrageous prices - trying to get as much cash out of the raw foodists as possible.

And, mangosteen, acerola, mamey, horsetail, burdock, loganberries, nopal cactus, sapote, radish sprouts, shizandra berries, broccoli sproutes, hunzai grapes (love them), dragonfruit, etc. All of these are considered by some to be superfoods. I can keep thinking up more.

Yacon root syrup I think is better than agave as far as nutrients. But, it also comes from a land far, far away.

I used to live in Vermont. We would drink the maple sap. That is what is boiled down into maple syrup, which a lot of raw foodists still think is raw. But, it's boiled tree sap. I've had people try to correct me on this. One said, "Well (name of popular raw foodist) uses it." Just because (so and so) uses it doesn't mean it is raw. I've sat in sugar shacks with the Vermont locals as the sat getting drunk watching the sap boil. They like single word sentences: Yup. Nope.

Oh, fruit: quamquats. Love those things. They grow here in California.

Germinated wild rice salad. This can turn out really good, or taste like a bunch or starch. Put things in like diced celery, dices chives, diced onion, fractured walnuts, chopped apples, and currants, squeeze a lemon over it... I can't remember what else I put in. But, germinated wild rice salad adds variety. (soak the wild rice for hours, then rinse two or three times a day for a two or three days)

Cherries. I can eat tons of them. If they aren't a superfood, I don't know what is.

Oh, and pomegranates. The raccoons ate all of mine this year. Dag nag it! They left half of the last one on my doorstep. As if!

As far as seeded grapes, you may have to ask your healthfood store to order some, or your local organic farmer to start growing some (there are some here who have started doing it as they've been asked enough times). Grapes are a natural kidney cleanser. Best to get seeded grapes. They also contain resveratrol, which is an excellent nutrient. I have some seeds and we are going to grow some on a friend's land.

And, kombucha is considered by some to be a superfood. Some people say it isn't so good for you. Others say it is. Read up and decide for yourself. I drink it. I've made it in a big jar.

I think the key is to consume largely highly vibrant foods: fresh, uneated fruits, berries, melons, vegetables, leafy greens, so that you get the biophotons, which are the light nutrients. There are photo receptors in our cells, including within our brain.

The most important superfood is love. It is an essential nutrient that we synthesize within us, and we also need to obtain from outside sources. Aaaawwwwwww

i love my food all brightly colored....cos firstly we eat with our eyes then our mouths then our tummies...more great info....never had kombucha whats it made of?

Good Luck getting love from the outside, ha-ha.

Lots of peoplies dedicate their lives to that idea, get nowhere.

Best of love comes from inside.

Apprecenade all your nutrient idea, Boss/Hoss.

I mean, "unheated" not "uneated," which of course makes no sense at all.

Thanks you guys for the comps.

I don't mean to turn this into a book, but I wanted to clarify the information about the probiotics.

I meant adding vegan probiotic powder as an ingredient when you make nut cheeses. Or as an ingredient when you make coconut keifer, or coconut yogurt (meat of coconuts blended like hell, mixed with probiotics, keep in warm, dry place covered with towel for 24 hours, then on second day add sqeezes of lemon juice and toss in some berries).

Since they are bacteria, they will grow in the base of what you are using - such as they will grow in the coconut water, or the blended coconut meat, and, with the raw nut cheeses, in the raw nuts that have been soaked and then blended into a cream (try a mix of macadamia and pignolis). But, there are ways of making raw nut cheeses so they have a stronger base of probiotics, such as by letting the creamed nuts with the mix of probiotic powder to sit in a bowl covered by a towel for 24 hours in a clean, dry, warm place. And only add the salt to this raw vegan cheese after the 24 hours of allowing it to sit. And you can mix in herbs and use it as a soft cheese, or spread it on dehydrator sheets and dehydrate it into a firm/flakey cheese - with a zillion million calories! : (

See Cherie Soria's book, The Raw Revolution Diet, and she has recipes in there. I think that is a very helpful book, and it is written with two nutritionists as co-authors - so it is more on spot than a lot of other books that have unfounded (and even outlandish) claims. I tell people who are interested in raw gourmet, to get that book before any others.

You can add a little vegan probiotic powder to lots of things: salads, smoothies, hummus, etc.

Kombucha is fermented tea. Lots of info on Google. Including instructions on how to make it.

You are in Australia? Here in California there are a half dozen varieties of kombucha in the healthfood stores. The companies keep coming up with new flavors.

One of the major soda companies (Coke or Pepsi) wanted to purchase GTs kombucha company. And, he turned them down! They were offering an tremendously ENORMOUS sum of money and stock. He started the company after his mother survived cancer and attributed her survival to various things, including consuming kombucha juice. They started selling bottled kombucha here at the local healthfood store, and over the past decade they have grown to become a national company distributed across the continent. Absolutely amazing the he stood his ground against the corporate giant. He's a very nice guy. And his mother is a wonderful lady.

Perhaps someone will start a kombucha drink company in Australia. Hint hint hint.

That sounds like fun.. There is a thing called double dutch where two girls hold two ropes and you have to jump them both at the same time.. maybe you could find a couple of girls to try this with you. It's pretty impressive when you see it..
