So as of late I'm not entirely up to date with all of the immunizations and vaccines and what not that I'm supposed to have done - and lately my doctor has been pushing me to get the new Gardasil vaccination (one that's supposedly meant to prevent some forms of cervical cancer) and my parents are saying that I need to get the rest of my vaccinations done as well. I believe I'm supposed to be getting a hepatitis one done along with some other one (can't remember the name lol) but apparently it's for some flu-like disease that can be fatal. However I feel very uncomfortable with the general idea of getting them done but I also do want to protect myself from becoming ill. Not to mention with all the talk of the swine flu going around it's raised some alarm and has begun to make a lot of people nervous lately.
Sooo my question is - what does everyone think about being vaccinated? Is it a risk to not have it done? Would it be better to just get the shots or to rely on my immune system to protect me all on its own? And what about people who aren't raw? My fiance eats a fairly healthy diet (albeit a SAD one) but he's by no means raw. Should he be vaccinated?
Well, if anyone bothers to look at all the links above and if you have a daughter and are considering getting her to have the HPV Vaccine then I urge you to read all of the above information before making your decision!
I had tons of vaccines before going to India about 3 years ago and I'm doing a detox with a homeopath now. I will never get another one. I am almost sure its affected my mind and body to a major degree...
I'm not a doctor (yet...maybe), but I believe that many natural remedies such as homeopathy or essential oils are very powerful medicines, and they can easily replace any vaccine if used intelligently.
What about the shot for tetnus? Would it be worth it to get if you got cut by a rusty nail? I know all other vaccines are horrible and I wish I never got them when I was little, but I cant go back in time.
Did you get cut by a rusty nail?
If I got cut by a rusty nail I would soak IMMEDIATELY in Epsome salt for like an hour. Then I'd go to my Homeopathic/naturopathic dr. and ask them.
My 4 year old DD who's had no vaccines got cut by a semi rusty garden tool. I freaked out. Everyone in my "real" life told me to get the shot for her. But it had Diptheria along with the Tetanus!!! HOw bogus is that?
So I went to a homeopathic/naturopathic/energy testing lady, who gave her some herbal blood cleansing stuff and nano silver. She has been fine. Its been a month or 2. But I also soaked it for an hour within 5 minutes of the cut.
I don't know what I'd do if one of my kids got a nail halfway through their foot, but I'll decide that if it happens.....errrrr.....knock on wood.
Also, I think the hepatitis and gardasil vaccines are completely bogus. I'm not gonna be out having sex with every Tom Dick and Harry, and I'm not gonna come into contact with all that crap. So why would I need a shot? Comepletely crazy if you ask me.
i believe our immunities build up really high on raw food and so we need less of this junk. i am trying to get my dogs to be more on RAF too and eventually i think they would need less of the vaccines.
Regarding the Gardasil vaccine: as I have no idea if you carry HVP strains it works against -- or will some day carry the HPV strains that cause cervical cancer, I certainly don't want to tell you what to do. I will recommend that you get as much information for and against it as you can, and decide for yourself. Personally, I am not getting the vaccine- only because it is a new vaccine, I am married and monogamous. I do receive vaccines that have been tried and true (tetanus, hepatitis- but I have to receive hep because of my job- not the flu no way no how)- that said, when/if I have children, I will personally wait until they have reached a state of developed immune maturity before I subject them to any vaccines. And then it will only be the "basic" vaccines, not some of the newer ones. Do you know about herd immunity? It's a concept worth understanding, basically- if everyone around you is vaccinated, you won't catch a disease, because it's not highly prevalent in a population. Worth considering.
Did you know that you can be tested for strains of HPV that the Gardasil vaccine works against? Ask your doctor about this. Did you know that cervical cancer and anal cancer are nasty, painful ways to pass from this life? I do NOT promote vaccines. I think that big pharma does a whole lot of bad. But I also want you to know, that as I don't know you, I think it's dangerous to give you advice about what to do regarding something so potentially dangerous. It's all a matter of odds.
I'm an astrologer. I can look at my stars and see if it's a good time to have a surgery, get a vaccine, etc. I'm also a doctor, and I understand the pros and cons of getting vaccines. I would never tell you "get it" or "don't get it" on a message board, because I have seen and know too much. But I will tell you that no one here means any harm. I just wonder how many of them have seen cervical cancer from the inside out. You could start eating french fries and Krispy Cremes tomorrow, turning tricks for a living, etc.. and I would say "get the vaccine". You could eat raw, have a lot of responsible sex and stay on various superfoods for life, and I would say, "why bother?". There are so many factors.....
Something I learned in medical school, which I find quite interesting, is that vaccination originally comes from native and tribal cultures.
Straight from good old Wikipedia:
Early forms of vaccination were developed in ancient China as early as 200 B.C.[1] Scholar Ole Lund comments: "The earliest documented examples of vaccination are from India and China in the 17th century, where vaccination with powdered scabs from people infected with smallpox was used to protect against the disease. Smallpox used to be a common disease throughout the world and 20% to 30% of infected persons died from the disease. Smallpox was responsible for 8 to 20% of all deaths in several European countries in the 18th century. The tradition of vaccination may have originated in India in AD 1000."[4] The mention of vaccination in the Sact'eya Grantham, an Ayurvedic text, was noted by the French scholar Henri Marie Husson in the journal Dictionaire des sciences me`dicales.[5] Almroth Wright, the professor of pathology at Netley, further helped shape the future of vaccination by conducting limited experiments on the professional staff at Netly, including himself. The outcome of these experiments resulted in further development of vaccination in Europe.[6] The Anatolian Ottoman Turks knew about methods of vaccination about a hundred years before Edward Jenner to whom the discovery is attributed. They called vaccination Ashi or engrafting, which they used to apply to their children with cowpox taken from the breast of cattle. This kind of vaccination and other forms of variolation were introduced into England by Lady Montagu, a famous English letter-writer and wife of the English ambassador at Istanbul between 1716 and 1718, who'd almost died from smallpox as a young adult and was physically scarred from it. She came across the Turkish methods of vaccination, consenting to have her son inoculated by the Embassy surgeon Charles Maitland in the Turkish way. Lady Montagu wrote to her sister and friends in England describing the process in details. On her return to England she continued to propagate the Turkish tradition of vaccination and had many of her relatives inoculated.
Hope this helps. I have to get offline and back on the beach! Good luck in your decisions.
My first read on this subject was Wendy Lydall's Raising A Vaccine Child. I think she does a really good job of dispelling every myth out there. She also opened my eyes to how many excuses there are for why a vaccine doesn't work.
Since then I have done more reading as well but my standpoint remains the same. I will not vaccinate my child and won't vaccinate myself again.
vaccines do not work. Theres never been any science proving that they prevent anything, a lot of the time they actually cause what they are suppose to prevent. God never invented vaccines, so why would we need them?
I work at a caregiver at an assisted-living facility with senior citizens. One woman has hepatitis B. She gets chronic diarrhea. I clean her up. I'm told if I have a micro-cut on me an air born particle from fecal cut could contaminate me. I wear gloves but I definitely have tiny wounds on my hands, like the scrapes from my bike accident the other day.
It's really not in my best interest to get a hep B vaccination?
Part of my concern is that I want to legally establish that I don't take vaccinations. I want religious exemption if the government mandates swine-flu shots.
I'm training to be a C.N.A. I can't do clinicals in the hospital because I don't have shots. Get this: when I inquired about religious exemption, I was told that only applies to hepatitis B. Can that be true?
is sooooo far out of her comfort zone with trying to stay on track with eating *high raw*...& man, it might take me a few times to get something right ( I make the same mistake more than once) but has finally grasped why ppl have been telling her, "…
It seemed weird to be attacked by someone who didn't even know me...
But when I figured out that Abbey was actually Himalayan Strawberry, things began to make sense...
I think she may have animosity towards me due to when she got banned from here.…
