The SYNERGY THREAD: The synergy and interaction of nutrients...

Ok, mono-eaters: run away to your melons, this is no stuff for you, please go directly to point 17
below; NERDS: please welcome and read all!

The synergy and interaction of nutrients...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These combinations are working MUCH better than the nutrients on
their own:

1. Broccoli/avocado & tomato (synergy: lutein & lycopene)
2. curcumine (turmeric root) & black pepper: very strong synergy,
between piperine (in black pepper) & curcumin (turmeric root)

2 B: Curcumin & Vit D (special action to clean up Alzheimer plague..):

http://www.naturalnews.com/027130_disease_Alzheimers_vitamin_D3.html

3. coconut & flaxseed/hempseed etc.. (synergy between coconutfat and the a-linoleenacid of the latter, which stimulates the conversion into
omega-3 fats.

4. sulphoraphane* and apigenin: example: broccoli and apple

5. sulphoraphane* and selenium: example: broccoli & brazilnut

6. Any herb & Cayennepepper (powder much better than capsules..) or other hot peppers. The cayennepepper opens the vains and transports the costly herbs into the tiniest vains.
I call cayennepeper the "icebreaker" in your blood..

7. Green tea with citrus juice; Vit C protects the catechines from
oxidizing:

http://www.cbc.ca/health/story/2007/...a.html?ref=rss

8. Taking Chlorella/Cilantro while eating food containing Mercury.

* this stuff is in any food of the BRASSICA-familiy.

9. green tea and Reishi mushrooms (science daily, 8 april 2008).

10. Magnesium & silicium.
Reason: magnesium (in chocolate ) & silicium (in horsetail) together are verry excellent calciumbuilders.
Source: David Wolfe. (NO: he is not looking like a SAD-EATER...)

11. Chopped, unpeeled apples with berries. Combining unpeeled apple with berries may have more of an anti-cancer effect that one of these fruits alone. Lab studies suggest the antioxidant quercetin found in apple peel, together with another antoixoidant called ellagic acid found in berries, can kill cancer cells. Whether this works as well in fruit salad as in the test tube isn't certain - either way it's a good-tasting combination.

12. Grapes and apples:

The next time you're whipping up a fruit salad, make sure to include these naturally sweet goodies. Apples contain the flavonoid called quercetin, and grapes contain catechin. Studies show that pairing the two compounds may improve cardiovascular health by making blood platelets less sticky so they don't clump together and clog arteries. "The combination tends to have a mild anticoagulant effect," says Barry Halliwell, PhD, nutrition professor at the National University of Singapore, who co-authored a study on quercetin and catechin.

Don't care for apples and/or grapes? Other quercetin-rich foods include raspberries, buckwheat and onions; catechin is also found in red wines and green and black teas.

13. Vit C & Iron

Foods such as spinach and chickpeas contain significant amounts of iron, but it's not as readily available to the body as iron from animal sources. However, vitamin C makes it easier for your body to absorb plant-based iron. So adding C-rich orange segments to a spinach salad can increase the amount of iron your body gets. "So, if someone is a vegetarian or is anemic, combining those foods can help them get more iron than they normally would," Vasconcellos explains.

14. Lemons & green vegetables :

- The citric acid of the lemons will get you absorp more Calcium from the
(green) vegetables;

- In general: The citric acid also kills some food born pathogenes.

15. MSM & Vitamin C
(Source: Sunfood.com).

I like to eat grapefruit on an empty stomach, together with some water
in which Msm is solved...

16. (goji) berries & cacao.

(Source: chocolateguru David Wolfe, no he is not looking like a SAD-eater..).

These products enhance together the uptake of anti-oxidants by a factor of 3.

17. Pooping and peing together is good in order to detox.

LL-laboratories

18. Cannabis and dark chocolate: I read eating chocolate 45 minutes before cannabis will enhance the effects and make them stay longer, some recipe's stolen from the Internet:

cacao
weed leaf crystally trim
liberty cap (psylisybin mushroom)
maca
suma
purple corn extract
3 types of high nutrition algae
agarve syrup

and

cacao
maca
suma
purple corn extract
3 types of high nutrition algae
he sho who
rieshi mushroom
astragulas
horsetail
coconut butter
marine phytoplankton
H1X1 (rare belize mushroom extract)
home made almond milk
and some fruit

Comment Lightlover: I think the wonderful FEELING (body..) of cannabis will make the best marriage with the unlimited wisdom of medicinal mushrooms (mind !) . I will try to find out which combi is the best (maybe mailing Paul Stamets..?)

* Lol: in the latest recipe there is chocolate as well as horsetail. This refers to synergy number 10)..
The maker of this recipe must have a good feeling for synergy's.....

19. Synergy: Take: Nicotinamide (Type of Vitamin b3 which gives hot flushes, begin with 100mg, advanced users: 250 mg..) AND chilipepper AND raw chocolate AND a type of cannabis
(best: vaporizer or spacecake or chewing cannabis or a cannabis spray..) AND go into an
far-infrared sauna ....

Warning: first try each of these actions SEPERATE in order to know your personal circumstances...
I did this experiment for 4 days and liked it very much...

20. Advanced supplements:

*** Brain: Acetyl l-carnitine & alpha-lipoic acid

"When combined, LA and ALC work at significantly lower concentrations than they each do individually"

Read: http://www.naturalnews.com/025616.html

Remarks LL: BE sure uou have R-alpha-lipoic acid, this is the natural from...

Also you can synergize through color balance...

Skip blah beige meals, go for phytonutrient rich colorful foods

The recently released Phytonutrient Report, sponsored by the supplement company Nutrilite, used National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys (NHANES) and USDA data to analyze what people in the U.S. typically eat each day. Because the same compounds that give plant foods various colors are related to phytonutrient content, the report divided consumption into five categories of colors -- green, red, blue/purple, yellow/orange and white.

For example, the phytonutrients isothiocyanate, lutein and isoflavones are known to be abundant in green foods such as spinach and broccoli and lycopene and ellagic acid are found in red fruits and vegetables like watermelon and tomatoes. White plant foods like onions and garlic are rich in allicin and quercetin. Anthocyanidins and resveratrol are found in purple and blue foods like grapes and blueberries while alpha-carotene, beta-carotene, hesperitin and beta-cryptoxanthin are most often in yellow/orange foods such as carrots and oranges.

The Phytonutrient Report concludes there is a phytonutrient gap in every color classification. Specifically, 88% of Americans are eating too few foods in the blue/purple category, 79% are missing out on an adequate intake of yellow and orange foods, and 78% don't have enough red veggies and fruits in their diets. In addition, 69% lack enough daily green plant foods and 86% lack enough white plant foods.
