...not so much a need to be brave but to be realistic. This health 'revolution' is becoming a little too out there for many people to grasp, so not being so restrictive is key.
Another person who went too extreme with raw and couldn't hold on. I don't blame him. I still don't eat 100% raw all the time, even though I would like to. But I'm not going to stress myself every time I go to someone's home who doesn't have a clue about what raw food is. That doesn't mean there is something wrong with the raw vegan diet. I means its very hard to do unless you surround yourself with only other raw diet people. Thirty years ago it was almost as difficult just to be vegetarian. Now its accepted.
By the way, I find that SAD meat eaters are very respectful and accepting of the fact that I don't eat meat they've prepared.
But vegetarians get real indignant and hurt if I don't eat the cooked vegetarian dishes they prepare.
Yes, I am severely lactose intolerant, but have no problems with raw dairy. Kefir is way different too. It doesn't feel/digest nearly the same as milk or even raw milk in the body.
Pete said: Ultimately it all boils down to survival...
Exactly it is about survival, what are we going to do when there are no forests left?
Not many people think of the environmental implications when it comes to consuming animal products...is it right? Is it healthy? Is it natural??
Well everything has a footprint on this planet and promoting primarily food that grows on trees makes a lot more sense to me personally. That's my simple truth!
i dont think it's controversial or brave...i mean it's not that out there to eat RAF....most of the world does it. As far as health is concerned I really have no idea anymore. All i know is personally that i have to do 100% raw or nothing. The minute I have something cooked i over eat...then I don't want to eat anything raw and I just go into a vicious cycle of eating nothing but cooked food. But i guess you do what works for you.
I only mean it's brave in the sense that he is well aware he's bursting a lot of bubbles and may be disappointing many people's expectations of him. Controversial- no! At least it shouldn't be. If someone finds it controversial, I'd say they're pretty dogmatic.
It's so great to have you here, Loren. And we are fortunate to receive the benefits of your years of experience with fasting. All your posts are extremely helpful to me and I am tremendously appreciative of your willingness to participate here so ...
YUM! That looks sooooo good, I love sushi so much but haven't had it years, since I don't get the conventional stuff anymore ( I call them mercury rolls) and I'm too lazy to make something like this.....will you come over and make it for me, pleee...
There is a great fruit wholesaler in town, specializing in Local, organic fruit actually.
All I need is a few people, a car and one willing person to go up there with me at some unholy hour (they close at 9am) once a week and it's beautiful fruit ...
